Fits Media Q3 power, Q3 Lady, and Q3 models; replaces OEM part BP22220A.
22.2V, 2000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers consistent voltage to motor under sustained suction loads.
Slides into vertical dock slot with keyed connector alignment; locking tab seats flush on insertion.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first charge cycle with no undervoltage cutoff.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — sustained trickle charge degrades capacity faster than full-charge removal cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Media Q3 / Q3 Lady — 22.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP22220A)

This is a 22.2V 2000mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Media Q3 power, Q3 Lady, and Q3 cordless stick vacuums. It slots in using the same connector and BMS interface as the original BP22220A pack. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 44.4Wh total energy.

  • Q3, Q3 Lady, and Q3 power compatibility: All three models run the same 22.2V six-cell Li-ion architecture with a shared connector and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between variants requires no modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated suction loads on the Q3 platform. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping and held voltage within spec across the discharge curve.
  • Dock charging habit on the Q3: Do not leave the Q3 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge after full capacity degrades the cell chemistry faster than normal cycling. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than its rated load. The extra draw causes the battery voltage to sag under load, even when the cells still hold a reasonable state of charge. The Q3's indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load — so the light stays green while suction performance falls. Clean or replace the filter first before concluding the battery is at fault.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a clogged filter, current draw spikes above the BMS threshold and the pack shuts the output rail. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. Check the filter and inspect the floor head for a partial blockage. If the cutout repeats on a clean filter with an unobstructed head, measure the resting pack voltage — it should read between 24.0V and 25.2V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Media Q3 power has noticeably weaker suction but the battery light still shows full — is the battery failing?

Weak suction with a healthy battery indicator is almost always a filter restriction, not a dead cell. A clogged filter makes the motor work harder, pulling more current and causing voltage to sag under load — but the indicator reads resting voltage, so it stays green. Clean or replace the filter before replacing the battery. If suction recovers after a filter clean, the battery is fine.

The Q3 motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then comes back on — what is causing that?

That cut-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, then resetting. It happens when restricted airflow — usually a blocked filter or a jammed floor head — forces the motor to draw above the pack's current limit. Clear any blockage in the floor head and clean the filter. If the cutout still happens on a completely clear airway, check the resting pack voltage; a full charge should read between 24.0V and 25.2V.

The replacement BP22220A battery fades much faster than expected after only a few months — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the Q3. Leaving the vacuum on the charging dock after the pack reaches full charge keeps a trickle current running through the cells, which accelerates degradation over time. Charge the battery to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge. Returning to that habit after fitting a new pack will preserve capacity significantly longer.
