Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

E.Ziclean Furtiv — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the E.Ziclean Furtiv robotic vacuum cleaner. It slots into the same bay as the original and connects to the same charging and motor circuit. Capacity is 2000mAh (28.8Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Furtiv battery bay fit: The Furtiv uses a fixed 14.4V Ni-MH pack with a specific cell arrangement and connector orientation. This replacement matches those physical and electrical parameters — same cell count, same voltage rail, same connector position.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Furtiv platform. The BMS accepted charge from the original dock without fault, and the motor circuit drew current within normal operating range across flat and low-pile carpet surfaces.
  • Dock charging discipline on the Furtiv: Do not leave the Furtiv sitting on its dock between uses permanently. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge lose capacity faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells show a gradual voltage drop under load rather than a sharp cutoff. When the Furtiv's motor draws sustained current across a full cleaning cycle, a degraded or partially discharged pack sags below the voltage needed to maintain full suction — even while the indicator still reads mid-charge. This is voltage sag under load, not a dead battery. A fresh pack at full charge holds the voltage rail steady and keeps suction consistent through the cycle.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the Furtiv's brush roll or intake is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than its rated load to maintain speed. The BMS reads this as an overcurrent event and cuts power to protect the pack. After a few seconds the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair or debris wrapped around the axle, then run a full charge cycle and test — normal motor current should stay below the trip threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Furtiv keeps cutting out mid-clean for a few seconds then starts again — is that the battery or a blockage?

That pause-and-restart pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing cell. A blocked filter or tangled brush roll forces the motor to draw more current than the pack's rated threshold, so the BMS cuts power to protect the cells and resets after a few seconds. Remove and clean the filter, then clear any hair wrapped around the brush roll axle. Run the vacuum again — if the trips stop, the blockage was the cause, not the battery.

The Furtiv loses suction about two-thirds of the way through a clean, but the battery light still shows charge — why?

This is Ni-MH voltage sag under sustained motor load. As the pack discharges, its voltage drops gradually, and the motor loses driving force before the indicator registers low — the indicator lags behind the real cell voltage under load. A partially blocked filter makes this worse by forcing the motor to draw harder than rated, accelerating the sag. Fit the new pack fully charged, clean the filter first, and the motor should hold consistent suction through a full cycle.

The replacement battery doesn't seem to charge as well after I leave the Furtiv on the dock all the time — is the new pack already dying?

Continuous dock sitting damages Ni-MH cells faster than any other usage pattern. The charger delivers a low trickle current indefinitely when the pack is docked, and that sustained trickle causes heat build-up inside the cells and accelerates capacity loss. Remove the Furtiv from the dock once the charge indicator shows full and only return it when the pack is depleted. After three to four charge-then-remove cycles, capacity should stabilise at its rated 2000mAh.
