Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Flymo Grass Trimmer — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 18V 3000mAh (54Wh) Li-ion battery fits the Flymo UltraTrim 260, EasiCut 450, UltraReach 420, EasiTrim 250, and 15 additional models. Flymo's 18V cordless trimmer line shares a common battery platform across its consumer range. Capacity sits at 3000mAh — a step up from the 2500mAh packs that shipped with some earlier units.
- Cross-model compatibility — UltraTrim, EasiCut, UltraReach, EasiTrim: These models run the same 18V rail and use the same slide-in connector and BMS communication protocol, so one battery pack services the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge/discharge cycles — the BMS held voltage steady under cutting load and tripped the low-voltage cutoff cleanly before cell damage could occur.
- First charge after storage: If the pack has been sitting, run a full charge before first use — Li-ion cells that ship partially discharged need one complete cycle to calibrate the fuel gauge on the trimmer's indicator.
Why capacity matters on a line trimmer
Grass trimmers draw current in bursts — harder when cutting thick growth, lighter on open lawn. A 3000mAh cell handles those peaks better than a worn original pack that can no longer hold its rated capacity. The BMS on this unit also limits discharge rate, which protects the motor windings from voltage sag during heavy cuts.
Trimmer powers on but cuts out immediately — here's why
This usually means the BMS is tripping on overcurrent within seconds of startup. The most common cause is a partially blocked cutting head creating excessive motor load at start. Clear any debris from the spool, check that the line length isn't over-extended, then reinsert the battery. If the problem continues, the issue is with the motor or head assembly — not the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Flymo EasiTrim cut out halfway through the lawn and now it won't start again — is the battery dead or is it something else?
This is almost always thermal cutoff, not a dead battery — 18V Li-ion packs in cordless trimmers shut down hard when the cells overheat, especially if the line was buried in thick grass and the motor was labouring. Let the battery sit off the tool for 20 minutes in a cool spot, then try again. If it restarts fine but cuts out again after light use, the issue is cell imbalance — one cell is weaker and hitting its floor voltage before the others. Check the battery indicator: if it shows full charge but still cuts out under load, that cell imbalance diagnosis is likely correct and a replacement pack will fix it.
My Flymo trimmer runs but the cutting head feels like it's dragging — it spun fine on the old battery
Voltage sag under load is the most probable cause — if the replacement battery's cells aren't matched tightly, voltage drops the moment the motor pulls current, and the head loses torque without the battery appearing to be flat. This happens more often on 18V packs with mismatched cells than on the OEM units, which are cell-sorted at the factory. Put a multimeter on the battery terminals while the tool is running: resting voltage of 18–20V is normal, but if it drops below 15V the moment the head engages, the pack can't sustain the load. If that's what you see, the pack itself is the problem.
Flymo battery charged all night, charger light went green, but the trimmer dies after about two passes — what's wrong?
A green light confirms the charger finished a cycle, but it doesn't confirm the pack reached full capacity — Li-ion chargers terminate on voltage, not true capacity, so a degraded or deeply discharged pack can trick the charger into stopping early. Take the pack off the charger, wait 10 minutes, then put it back on: if the light immediately goes green again without any charge cycle running, the pack is either fully charged or the charger is failing to detect a fault. Charge it fully, then check the battery indicator — if it shows four bars but still dies under load, the capacity is there but one cell is collapsing; if it shows two bars or fewer after a full night, the pack isn't accepting charge properly and needs replacing.
