Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu FMV-716NU3/B Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (FPCBP42)
This is a 10.8V, 3400mAh (36.72Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Fujitsu FMV-716NU3/B and related FMV-BIBLO NB-series notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers FPCBP42, 0643970, and FM-33. The battery slots into any chassis that accepts the original FPCBP42 cell pack.
- FMV-BIBLO NB and FMV-7xx series compatibility: These models share the same 10.8V three-cell rail, identical connector pitch, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell pack covers all of them without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a FMV-BIBLO NB-series unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the BIOS, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held the rated voltage without tripping thermal cutoff.
- Post-install calibration on FMV LifeBook units: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on these Fujitsu models.
Why the FMV-716NU3/B BIOS reports poor battery health after a cell swap
The FMV LifeBook BIOS stores charge history and health data tied to the old cell's EEPROM signature. When a new cell installs, that stored data no longer matches the actual chemistry, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the BIOS enough data to rewrite its health record. After one or two complete cycles, the health warning clears and the reported capacity aligns to the actual 36.72Wh rating.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The IC inherited voltage-to-percentage mapping from the old, degraded cell — so it miscalculates the remaining capacity and triggers shutdown before the cell is actually empty. It is not a defective battery. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles without interruption. After calibration, the gauge will track accurately and the early shutdowns will stop — the cell sustains voltage above the 9.5V cutoff under combined CPU and display load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The FMV-BIBLO NB shows 0% and "unknown battery" in Windows right after fitting the new cell — is it dead on arrival?
It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in these Fujitsu notebooks retains the discharge profile of the old cell in memory, and a brand-new cell does not match that stored curve — so Windows reports 0% or unknown until calibration happens. Drain the battery fully until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using it. Do this twice and the fuel gauge IC will map the new cell's voltage curve correctly, restoring an accurate percentage readout.
Windows reports this battery as 36Wh but the BIOS health screen shows a much lower design capacity — which number is right?
The BIOS pulls its design capacity figure from EEPROM data written by the original OEM cell, not from the replacement. The actual rated capacity of this cell is 36.72Wh — that is the authoritative spec. The BIOS figure will remain low until the battery learn cycle overwrites the stored EEPROM value. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge, and the BIOS design capacity field will update to reflect the replacement cell's actual rating.
The FMV-716NU3/B stops charging at 80% and the charge light goes off — is the new battery refusing to accept a full charge?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge threshold, not a battery fault. Fujitsu's firmware on several FMV LifeBook models includes a charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on mains power. Check the Fujitsu Power Management utility or BIOS power settings for a "Battery Charge Mode" or "Economy Charge" option. Switching that setting to "Full Charge" mode will allow the battery to charge to 100%.
