Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu Lifebook M1010 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DPK-CWXXXSYA4)
This 14.4V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Fujitsu Lifebook M1010 ultraportable notebook. It fits the M1010 and CWOAO variants and carries a 2200mAh (31.68Wh) capacity matching the OEM specification. Install it when the existing cell no longer holds a usable charge or the system shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- M1010 and CWOAO platform fit: Both variants share the same 14.4V voltage rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol, so a single cell covers the full M1010 family without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an M1010 unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the system controller, accepted a full charge to 100%, and held the low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold without tripping a false protection event.
- Post-install calibration on the M1010: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell
The M1010 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM and compares it against a learned baseline from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM data does not yet match what the BIOS expects, so it flags the battery as degraded or unknown even though the cell is fresh. This is a firmware reading issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the calibration cycle described above — one full discharge to hibernate, then a full uninterrupted charge — and the BIOS will rebuild its baseline against the new cell's actual characteristics.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated its capacity model against the new cell's discharge curve. The IC predicts 20–30% remaining based on old data, but the cell voltage drops below the safe threshold faster than the model expects under combined CPU and display load, triggering an immediate shutdown. It is not a defective cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Complete two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles, and the fuel gauge IC will track the actual voltage cliff accurately. After calibration, the shutdown should align with a displayed charge of 5% or lower, around 13.5V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The M1010 BIOS shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" straight after install — is the cell dead?
The cell is not dead. The BIOS is reading EEPROM data from the old battery's learned cycle and has nothing to compare the new cell against yet. Run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on the low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single learn cycle, the BIOS will register the new cell correctly and the 0% or "unknown" status will clear.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it lists a different number than 31.68Wh. Why?
The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell, which reports the rated chemistry value, not the measured capacity of the specific cells inside the pack. Small differences between the EEPROM-stored rating and the displayed figure are normal across cell batches and do not indicate a fault. The actual usable energy delivered will reflect the 31.68Wh specification. If the displayed Wh is drastically different — more than 15% off — reseat the battery and repeat the calibration cycle to allow the fuel gauge IC to recalculate from scratch.
The charge stops at 80% and will not climb higher no matter how long the M1010 stays plugged in — what is causing that?
The M1010 BIOS includes a charge-limit function that caps charging at 80% when it detects a battery health flag it has not yet cleared. This is a BIOS-controlled behaviour, not a fault with the cell or charger. Complete the calibration cycle — full discharge to hibernate, then a full uninterrupted charge — so the BIOS resets its health flag against the new cell. Once the flag clears, the charge will continue past 80% and reach 100%.
