Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fun Beat VacuSmart 700 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery pack for the Fun Beat VacuSmart 700 cordless vacuum cleaner. It fits the handheld motor assembly that drives suction across floors, carpets, and upholstery. Capacity matches the original spec at 28.8Wh.

  • VacuSmart 700 fitment: The 14.4V rail and physical pack dimensions — 91.91 x 67.35 x 44.58mm — match the battery bay on this model. The connector orientation and BMS wiring align with the VacuSmart 700's charging circuit, so the dock communicates correctly with the replacement cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the VacuSmart 700 motor platform. The BMS held voltage within spec under sustained suction load, and the charger handshake completed without fault codes or interrupted charge cycles.
  • Dock charging behaviour: Do not leave the VacuSmart 700 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove it.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH packs show a relatively flat voltage curve for most of their discharge, then drop sharply. On the VacuSmart 700, the motor draws harder when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces higher current, which pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator anticipates. The result is noticeable suction loss while the indicator still reads mid-charge. Clean the filter first. If suction recovers, the battery is not the cause — the motor was simply working against restricted airflow.

Motor cutting out and recovering mid-clean

This is typically a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is blocked — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or dense carpet pile restricting airflow — the motor stalls slightly and draws a current spike above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets after a few seconds. Clear the obstruction and check the filter. If the motor then runs without cutting out, the pack is functioning correctly and the fault is airflow restriction, not battery failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VacuSmart 700 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows charged — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. Ni-MH cells drop voltage sharply at end-of-discharge, and the VacuSmart 700's indicator lags behind that curve. A blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which collapses cell voltage faster than the indicator registers. Clean the filter thoroughly and retest — if suction holds, the battery is fine and the motor was pulling against restricted airflow.

The motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then coming back on — what's causing this?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip cycling on and off. When the nozzle or filter is partially blocked, the motor load spikes above the BMS protection threshold and the circuit cuts. It resets automatically after a few seconds, which is why suction returns. Clear the nozzle blockage, clean the filter, and run the vacuum again — if the cutting-out stops, the battery and BMS are both working correctly.

The replacement battery seems to lose capacity after only a few weeks — it was fine at first. What went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early Ni-MH capacity fade in cordless vacuums. Trickle current from the dock gradually damages cells when the pack is left connected after reaching full charge. Remove the VacuSmart 700 from the dock once charging is complete. Going forward, charge only when the battery is depleted and disconnect immediately when full — this keeps cell capacity stable across many more cycles.
