Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gardena Accucut Cordless Grass Trimmer — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 18V 2600mAh lithium-ion pack replaces the original battery on the Gardena Accucut 400Li and 450Li cordless grass trimmers. Both models run on Gardena's 18V cordless platform, so one battery services either trimmer without modification. Capacity is 2600mAh (46.8Wh), matching the original specification.
- Accucut 400Li / 450Li / 02417-20 compatibility: All three share the same 18V rail, connector format, and BMS communication protocol — the trimmer's charge indicator and tool logic behave the same as with the factory pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge and discharge cycles — the BMS held voltage steady under cutting load and triggered the low-voltage cutoff cleanly before cell damage could occur.
- First-use conditioning for Li-ion packs: Run the trimmer until the battery protection circuit cuts power, then charge fully before the next session — this helps the BMS calibrate its state-of-charge readings from the start.
How the BMS protects the trimmer motor, not just the cells
The Accucut's motor draws a sharp current spike when the cutting head bites into dense grass. The BMS monitors this and clamps output if current exceeds safe limits, protecting both the cells and the trimmer's motor windings. Voltage stays within the 18V platform's operating window throughout the discharge curve. That consistency keeps cutting speed stable rather than tapering off as the pack depletes.
Trimmer powers on but cuts out under load — cause and fix
If the Accucut starts normally but shuts off when hitting thicker grass, the original battery's cells have likely degraded and can no longer sustain the current spike the motor demands. The BMS reads this as an over-current or under-voltage fault and disconnects. Replacing the pack resolves it immediately — a fresh cell set delivers the burst current the motor needs without tripping the protection circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Gardena Accucut cuts fine for a bit then suddenly stops and won't restart until I wait a few minutes — what's wrong?
That's thermal cutoff triggering, and it's working as designed — but it shouldn't be happening this fast on a healthy battery. Li-ion cells at this capacity class heat up quickly when they're pushed through thick or wet grass, and an aged or undersized pack hits the cutoff threshold sooner than a fresh one. Let the trimmer cool for three minutes, then check whether it restarts at full speed or sluggishly — sluggish restart points to a pack that's lost usable capacity, not just heat. Put the battery on the charger after it cools and see if it accepts a full charge cycle without faulting.
My replacement battery fits in the Accucut but the trimmer runs noticeably slower than it did with the original — is something wrong with the new pack?
A new 18V Li-ion pack running the trimmer slower than the old one usually means the cells aren't delivering full voltage under load — the resting voltage looks fine, but it sags when the motor draws current. We see this on bench tests when a replacement pack has higher internal resistance than the original, either from mismatched cells or a pack that wasn't properly balanced before shipping. Pull the battery off the trimmer immediately after a short run and check the surface temperature — a pack with high internal resistance runs noticeably warmer than it should. If you have a multimeter, check terminal voltage under load; it should stay close to 18V and not drop toward 15V or lower mid-cut.
The charger light just stays solid or keeps blinking and never goes green — the battery came straight out of the box like this
A brand-new Li-ion pack can arrive in a deep discharge state if it sat in a warehouse for months, and some chargers won't start a normal charge cycle when they detect voltage below their minimum threshold. Leave the battery on the charger for 20 minutes without touching anything — some chargers run a slow recovery pulse below the main charge threshold before switching to normal mode. If the light pattern doesn't change at all after 20 minutes, remove the pack, wait 60 seconds, and reseat it firmly to rule out a contact issue. If the charger still won't accept it, check the battery terminals for debris or oxidation and try the pack in a second compatible Gardena charger if one is available.
