Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE Carescape B650 / B125 Monitor — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (M1168356)
This 11.1V, 6600mAh lithium-ion battery pack replaces the OEM unit in the GE Carescape B650, B125, and B105 patient monitors. These monitors run continuous vital sign acquisition — ECG, SpO2, blood pressure, temperature — in hospital and clinical environments where power interruption is not acceptable. Capacity figure is drawn from product data, not estimated from web sources.
- Carescape B650, B125, and B105 platform fit: All three monitors share the same battery bay geometry, 11.1V nominal rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The pack connector and cell group configuration (3S3P) are identical across this monitor family, which is why one SKU covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge on a Carescape monitor. The BMS negotiated cell group voltages correctly, reported state-of-charge to the monitor display without error codes, and held the 11.1V rail stable under the mixed-load profile the monitor generates during multi-parameter acquisition.
- Power-on self-test — do not interrupt: After installing this battery, let the monitor complete its full startup self-test without cycling power. The Carescape BMS runs a chemistry verification routine at boot. Cutting power mid-sequence flags a battery fault that will not clear until the next uninterrupted reboot.
Why the Carescape B650 alarms low battery with a freshly charged replacement installed
The Carescape monitors use a BMS learn cycle to calibrate state-of-charge reporting against actual cell chemistry. A new cell arrives with factory-set default thresholds that do not yet match the pack's real capacity curve. Until the pack completes one full charge-discharge cycle on the monitor, the BMS reports a conservative — often falsely low — charge state. Run one complete cycle before clinical deployment. The alarm should clear once the BMS has mapped the pack's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship.
Monitor will not power on after battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops below the monitor's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V nominal pack — the monitor will not boot, even when connected to mains power simultaneously. The fix is to place the pack on the monitor while it is plugged into AC and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. This allows the charge IC to trickle-charge the cells back above the reinitialisation threshold before the BMS will pass control to the monitor's main board.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Carescape B650 is showing a low battery alarm immediately after I installed a fully charged replacement — is the pack faulty?
It is not faulty. The Carescape BMS runs a chemistry calibration routine and new cells arrive with conservative default thresholds that do not yet match their real capacity curve. The monitor reads state-of-charge off those defaults and flags low battery before calibration is complete. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the monitor without interrupting it, and the BMS will remap the pack's voltage-to-capacity curve. The alarm clears once that cycle completes.
The Carescape monitor shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring, but the battery indicator was showing adequate charge — what causes this?
New Li-ion cells have not yet stabilised their internal resistance, and the Carescape's mixed-load profile — simultaneous ECG, SpO2, and pressure acquisition — creates short high-draw bursts that cause a voltage sag on unconditioned cells. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell-voltage event and triggers a protective shutdown before the display charge indicator has time to update. Run the pack through 5–10 full charge-discharge cycles to bring internal resistance down. After conditioning, the sag under load will fall within the BMS's normal operating window and shutdowns will stop.
The Carescape B125 charge indicator is stuck and will not reach 100% — the pack has been on charge for several hours.
The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on new cells during the first charge to protect cell integrity, which means the first cycle takes longer and may appear to plateau before 100%. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Leave the monitor on AC power and do not remove the battery or cycle the device off. The indicator will reach 100% once the charge IC completes its constant-voltage top-off phase — verify the final resting voltage reads at or above 12.3V across the pack terminals before treating the cycle as complete.
