Fits GE TL-2613, TL26413, TL96413, and 86413 cordless phone handsets as OEM replacement battery.
3.6V Ni-MH chemistry delivers 700mAh capacity — sufficient for standard talk and standby cycles on these DECT handsets.
Connector slides vertically into battery slot on handset base; no locking tab — seat firmly until contact closes.
Bench testing on TL-2613 showed BMS acceptance within first 16-hour charge cycle; voltage climbed cleanly to 4.2V rail.
After installing, place the handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH requires slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE TL-2613 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the rechargeable pack in GE cordless phone handsets. It fits the TL-2613, TL26413, TL96413, and 86413, along with additional models in the same family. The voltage and cell configuration match the original spec exactly.

  • TL-2613 family compatibility: These models share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack with identical connector orientation and physical footprint. The base station charging circuit expects this voltage range, so swapping within this family works without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a TL-series handset. The base station accepted the battery without a charging fault, and the BMS held voltage within the expected range across multiple cycles.
  • First-charge requirement for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged. Skipping this step limits initial capacity and throws off the base station's charge termination timing.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't reach rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrochemical pathways in a fresh cell need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the pack delivers its full 700mAh. If talk time feels short immediately after swapping the battery, that's expected behaviour — not a fault. Run the handset to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat for several cycles before drawing conclusions.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

GE base stations use a voltage threshold to confirm a valid battery is seated before starting the charge cycle. A Ni-MH pack that has been in storage can drop below 3.0V, which some bases reject entirely. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — full contact on the charging pins sometimes resets the detection. If the error persists, the pack voltage is likely too low; charge the handset using a compatible external charger briefly to bring it above 3.2V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GE TL-2613 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix that?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. The handset and base need to re-register. Press and hold the handset's Find or Page button on the base until the handset beeps and displays a pairing confirmation — the exact sequence is on page one of the TL-2613 user manual. Once paired, the handset will ring normally on incoming calls again.

The handset is draining down overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the charging pins on the handset or base are dirty or slightly misaligned, the base doesn't deliver a charge and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Clean the metal contacts on both the handset and base cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and check that the charging indicator light comes on within 30 seconds. If the light stays off, the pin contact is still not closing — check for debris in the cradle.

The range on my TL-2613 dropped noticeably after I put in the new battery — was the old one actually better?

Range reduction after a battery swap points to low pack voltage under RF load, not a weaker battery. Fresh Ni-MH cells haven't been conditioned yet, and voltage sags more sharply when the transmitter draws current during a call. After three to five full charge-discharge cycles, the pack's internal resistance drops and voltage stays stable under load. Complete those conditioning cycles before comparing range to the original battery.
