Fits Samsung SPR-6000 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery pack for this DECT model.
3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity after initial conditioning cycles on this handset.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with contact pins oriented toward the base station dock.
We bench-tested the cell on a Samsung DECT charger platform; BMS accepted voltage within spec on first insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SPR-6000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Samsung SPR-6000 cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the wireless unit. No OEM part number is listed for this model — fit is confirmed against the SPR-6000 handset directly.

  • SPR-6000 handset fit: The SPR-6000 runs a single-cell 3.6V Ni-MH pack at this form factor. The 42.64 x 30.00 x 14.45mm cell matches the original bay geometry and connector orientation. No modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The cell voltage climbed correctly through the Ni-MH charge curve and the handset accepted it without fault indication on the base station display.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After installing this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells at storage charge do not reach rated capacity until the first slow charge completes fully — skipping this step means the first few talk sessions will be noticeably short.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

NiMH cells sit at a reduced voltage after months in storage — sometimes as low as 3.0V or below. Some DECT base stations check incoming voltage before starting a charge cycle, and a pack that reads too low gets rejected outright. The fix is straightforward: leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for two to three hours. Most base stations will trickle-charge a low pack back above the acceptance threshold and then switch to normal charge mode automatically.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

This is expected behaviour with a fresh NiMH pack and not a fault. NiMH chemistry needs three to five full charge and discharge cycles before the cells reach rated capacity. The first cycle after that 16-hour initial charge will still feel short — that is normal. Run the handset down to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, talk time will be at or close to the 600mAh rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samsung SPR-6000 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which can wipe the stored pairing data on some DECT phones. The SPR-6000 handset needs to be re-registered to the base manually after a full power loss. Locate the registration or paging button on the base station, press and hold it until the base enters pairing mode, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset. The process takes under two minutes and does not require a reset of the base itself.

The SPR-6000 handset is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked down into the base cradle, the charging contacts do not make a reliable connection and the handset runs on battery the entire time it sits there. Lift the handset, reseat it firmly until you feel it click, and check that the charge indicator light on the base comes on. If the light still does not appear, clean the metal contact pins on both the handset and base with a dry cloth — oxidation on those contacts breaks the circuit.

The SPR-6000's range seems worse since I replaced the battery — calls break up further from the base than before.

Range drop after a battery swap on a DECT handset is usually a voltage sag problem. When the NiMH pack is not yet conditioned, its internal resistance is higher, so voltage drops under the RF transmit load. That voltage sag causes the radio to reduce transmit power, which shortens the usable range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles to condition the pack — internal resistance drops as the cells form, voltage holds steadier under load, and range returns to normal. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the replacement cell voltage holds above 3.4V under handset load.
