Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Getaway EC39C01c / EC39C02c Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS10H31)
This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery that replaces the original cell in Getaway EC39C01c, EC39C02c, EC39C03c, D43A, and related notebook models. It uses OEM part numbers AS10H31, AS10H3E, AS10H51, AS10H7E, AL10E31, and AL10F31. Confirm your part number against the label on the underside of the original battery before ordering.
- EC39C / D43A platform fit: These Getaway notebook lines share the same 11.1V three-cell battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single SKU covers the full range. The BMS reads cell chemistry and voltage to confirm compatibility on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the EC39C platform. The BMS handshake completed without error, charge terminated correctly at full voltage, and the fuel gauge IC registered the cell within expected range.
- First-cycle reset for EC39C notebooks: After installation, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
The Getaway EC39C BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM tied to the original cell's charge history. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches the actual cell state, so the BIOS flags health as poor or unknown — this is not a fault with the replacement battery. The fix is a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one or two full cycles, the BIOS recalibrates and the health warning clears.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge predicts 20–30% remaining, but the cell voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load — hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the gauge catches up. It is not a capacity defect. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging fully between each, and the fuel gauge IC will map the new cell accurately. After calibration, shutdown should not occur above 5–7% displayed charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Getaway EC39C shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and never moves — what's wrong?
The BIOS is reading stale EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't yet recognised the new one's charge state. This is common on the EC39C platform after a cell swap. Unplug the AC adapter, hold the power button for 15 seconds with the battery installed, then reconnect AC and let it charge uninterrupted to 100%. If the gauge still reads 0% after a full charge cycle, confirm the battery connector is fully seated — the EC39C pinout requires firm pressure to engage all five contacts.
The system info panel shows the wrong Wh rating — 48Wh installed but Windows reports something different. Is the battery faulty?
The Wh figure Windows reports is pulled from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity of the original cell — not the actual chemistry of the replacement. A mismatch between the EEPROM value and the installed cell's 48.84Wh rating is normal after a swap on this platform. It does not affect charging or discharge behaviour. Run one full learn cycle (discharge to hibernate, charge to 100%) and Windows will update the reported value against the new cell's actual full-charge capacity reading.
New battery charges to 100% once, but each subsequent charge stops at 80% — is the cell defective?
The EC39C BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that can activate after the first cycle if a battery conservation or health mode is enabled in the power management settings. This is a BIOS setting, not a battery fault. Go to the Getaway power management utility or BIOS settings and disable any "battery care" or charge threshold option. If no utility is installed, check BIOS under Power → Battery Charge Threshold and set the upper limit back to 100%.
