Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Globalstar TR-150 / TR-151 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (ATL903857)
This 3.7V 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original ATL903857 battery in the Globalstar TR-150 and TR-151 satellite communicators, including Telenav-branded variants. These devices operate in remote areas with no cellular coverage, so a dead battery is not a minor inconvenience — it cuts off GPS tracking, two-way messaging, and emergency communication. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec at 3.7V / 7.4Wh.
- TR-150 and TR-151 platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The ATL903857 cell also cross-references to GT920 and BP02-000540, covering all known board revisions across the TR-150 and TR-151 production runs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, standby, and active satellite-messaging loads. The BMS held stable voltage across all three states with no false low-battery flags or unexpected cutoffs during message transmission bursts.
- Cold-start reset after swap: After fitting this cell, power the TR-150 fully on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before heading into the field. GPS performs a cold start after any full power removal — first fix can take 5–10 minutes. Once acquired, subsequent warm starts are under a minute.
Active navigation draining the TR-150 faster than standby
The TR-150 runs its GPS receiver, satellite modem, and display simultaneously during active navigation. That combined draw is significantly higher than standby, where only the modem polls periodically. Screen brightness is the fastest lever — dropping it one or two steps cuts display load noticeably without affecting readability outdoors. Turning off tracking intervals you don't need also reduces modem transmit cycles and extends usable charge.
TR-150 shuts off without a low-battery warning
This happens when the fuel gauge calibration drifts after a full power removal — the device's voltage threshold indicator loses its reference point and shows more charge than the cell actually holds. The fix is a full recalibration cycle: charge the unit uninterrupted to 100%, then run it through a complete discharge under normal use. After one full cycle the indicator re-anchors to the cell's actual voltage curve, and the low-battery warning will fire before the unit hits the 3.0V cutoff floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TR-150 lost all my saved routes and check-in points after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it's specific to how the TR-150 stores data. Some route and waypoint data lives in battery-backed RAM, which loses its state the moment power is fully removed during a swap. Settings stored in flash memory survive, but actively cached routes may not. After fitting the new cell, resync the device with the Globalstar portal to restore any cloud-backed routes before heading out.
The TR-150 is taking 8–10 minutes to find satellites after I put in the new battery — did I get a faulty cell?
The cell is fine. A full power removal clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris data — the stored satellite position tables it uses for fast locks. Without that data, the receiver has to rebuild its picture of the sky from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear view. This is a one-time cold start; once the almanac reloads, subsequent locks drop back under a minute.
My TR-150 shows reduced GPS accuracy when the battery gets below half — is the receiver cutting corners at low charge?
Some GPS units step down receiver sensitivity at lower voltages to reduce current draw and protect the cell from deep discharge. On the TR-150, the effect becomes noticeable below roughly 3.5V. Keep the battery above half charge during active navigation in areas where position accuracy matters. If you notice drift worsening, check the battery indicator and recharge before continuing into terrain where precise location data is critical.
