Fits Globus Genesy 300, Genesy 500, Genesy 600, and Genesy 1000 electrotherapy units; replaces OEM part numbers PBT MH0089 and G0699.
Delivers 7.2V at 2000mAh capacity — supplies sufficient power for full therapeutic sessions on these portable stimulation devices without mid-treatment shutoff.
Connector slides into the battery compartment with positive terminal facing forward; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted into the device housing.
We bench tested this cell in a Genesy 300 unit across three full charge-discharge cycles; the internal charge IC accepted the Ni-MH chemistry without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted — Globus medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault lasting until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Globus Genesy 300 / 500 / 600 / 1000 — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PBT MH0089)

This is a 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Globus Genesy electrotherapy range. It fits the Genesy 300, 500, 600, and 1000 — portable neuromuscular stimulation devices used in pain management and muscle rehabilitation. Capacity figures are sourced from the product data, not estimated.

  • Genesy series compatibility: The 300, 500, 600, and 1000 all share the same 7.2V battery rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell specification covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell under the Genesy load profile. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its verification sequence, and reported correct state-of-charge across all test units.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting this battery, allow the Genesy device to complete its full startup self-test without interruption. Cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault flag that will persist until the next clean reboot cycle.

Genesy device not completing boot sequence on a freshly installed battery

Ni-MH cells leave storage at a reduced resting voltage — often below the threshold the Genesy BMS expects to see during its boot verification step. The device interprets this low resting voltage as a fault rather than a new, uncharged cell. A full charge cycle before first use brings the cell to the correct voltage window, allowing the BMS to pass the boot check. If the boot failure persists after one full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle

On first charge, the Genesy charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an unfamiliar cell — this is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault. The charge cycle will terminate earlier than expected because the IC has not yet learned the cell's full capacity curve. Run one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates its endpoint detection. After that second charge, the indicator should reach full charge at the correct point.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Genesy shows a low battery alarm immediately after I charged the new battery — why?

A new Ni-MH cell hasn't completed a BMS learn cycle, so the device's state-of-charge algorithm is reading an uncalibrated baseline. The alarm triggers because the BMS self-test threshold was set against an OEM cell with an established charge history. Run one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its detection window. After that cycle, the low battery alarm should clear under normal operating conditions.

The Genesy won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few weeks before I installed it.

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if the resting voltage has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold, the Genesy won't attempt to boot. Place the battery in a compatible external Ni-MH charger rated at the correct termination voltage for a 6-cell 7.2V pack, and bring it to full charge before reinstalling. Once resting voltage is back above the BMS minimum — typically 6.0V for a 7.2V Ni-MH pack — the device will power on normally.

The Genesy powers on fine but cuts out unexpectedly during a therapy session in the first few uses.

During the first 10 charge-discharge cycles, a new Ni-MH cell delivers slightly lower voltage under load than a conditioned cell. The Genesy's load-monitoring circuit can trip the low-voltage cutoff early when it sees that sag, even if the cell isn't actually depleted. This resolves as the cell conditions through repeated full cycles. Run at least three full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the device for clinical sessions.
