Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Google G16 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BA S570)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Google G16 smartphone. It fits directly in place of the original BA S570 cell. Cross-reference part numbers include BH06100, 35H00156-00M, and 35H00155-00M — all refer to the same physical cell.
- G16 fit specifics: The G16 uses a compact 51 × 36 × 6mm cell with a fixed connector pinout tied to the phone's fuel gauge IC. This cell matches those dimensions and the connector layout exactly, so the BMS handshake completes at first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on the G16 platform and monitored BMS communication. The fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and no fault codes were logged.
- First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the start.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the G16 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under modem or screen load, the IC misreads it as deeper than it is and the phone shuts down before reaching 0%. The fix is one full discharge-charge cycle with no fast charging — this forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its reference table against the new cell. After that cycle, the cutoff threshold aligns correctly and shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
G16 feels warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC maintains its target current regardless, so more energy converts to heat in the cell during early cycles. This is normal and tapers off after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If warmth continues past the third cycle or the phone gets hot rather than warm, check that the charge IC has not defaulted to an elevated charge rate — verify the charging mode shows standard rather than fast charge in the battery settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Google G16 showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery?
The fuel gauge IC on the G16 calibrated its discharge curve to your old, worn-out cell — it has no data on the new one yet. Until it builds a new reference, the percentage reading pulls from a mismatched curve and will read high or low. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate with fast charging off. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets its baseline and the percentage tracks accurately.
My G16 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?
Lithium-ion cells in storage self-discharge, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to protect the cell from damage. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS threshold, at which point the lockout releases and the phone boots normally. If there is still no response after 30 minutes, confirm the cable and adapter are delivering voltage by testing on another device.
Fast charging stopped working on my G16 right after I installed this battery — is something wrong?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its initial handshake with the G16's charge IC, and the phone falls back to standard charge rate as a precaution. This is not a fault. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle to 100% without interruption. On the next charge session, fast charging should negotiate correctly — if it does not, check that the USB-PD adapter you are using was also working with the old battery before concluding there is a hardware issue.
