Fits GP cordless phone handsets originally equipped with GP60AAK3BML, GP60AAS3BML, or GP80AAK3BML batteries.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity your DECT base station expects for normal pairing and RF transmit power.
Connector slides straight onto the battery contacts; no locking tab or orientation trap — standard cordless phone slot fit.
We bench-tested the BMS acceptance on three common DECT base stations; the cell voltage settled at 3.6V nominal within the first 16-hour charge cycle.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour initial charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries need slow charging to reach rated capacity on the first cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP GP60AAK3BML / GP60AAS3BML / GP80AAK3BML — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for cordless phones originally fitted with GP GP60AAK3BML, GP60AAS3BML, or GP80AAK3BML packs. It covers the same voltage rail and physical footprint as those OEM units. If your handset no longer holds a charge or dies quickly after leaving the base, this replaces the degraded cell.

  • GP OEM pack coverage: The GP60AAK3BML, GP60AAS3BML, and GP80AAK3BML all share a 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration and the same connector orientation, which is why one replacement covers all three part numbers.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible base station and confirmed the BMS accepted charge from a cold state without triggering a fault light on the cradle.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before taking it off — Ni-MH cordless phone packs need a slow first charge to reach rated capacity. A short first charge cuts usable talk time significantly for the first several cycles.

Base station charging error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH cells lose voltage during storage. If the resting voltage drops low enough, some cordless base stations read the pack as faulty and flash an error or refuse to charge. This is a base station threshold check, not a dead battery. Place the handset in the base and leave it — most bases will begin a trickle charge within a few minutes once the voltage climbs above the acceptance floor. If the error clears within 30 minutes, the pack is conditioning normally.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few uses

Ni-MH chemistry does not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. Cells need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before capacity stabilises. This is normal and not a sign of a faulty pack. Run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat — by cycle five the talk time should reach close to the rated 1200mAh level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless phone is losing range after I swapped in this new battery — what's going on?

Range drops when the handset's transmit power sags under RF load. Ni-MH packs fresh from storage have lower resting voltage, and the handset cannot sustain full transmit power until the cells are properly conditioned. Run three to five full charge cycles — each time, drain the handset to the low-battery alert, then charge for a full 16 hours. After conditioning, the voltage stays stable under RF draw and range returns to normal.

My handset lost its pairing with the base after I installed the new battery — is this fixable?

Yes. Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted — which happens when you swap the battery. This is a phone firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-pair the handset to the base using the registration button on the base station; the process usually takes under 60 seconds and is covered in your phone's manual under "register handset" or "add handset."

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?

Check that the handset is fully seated in the cradle. If the charging contacts are not making clean contact, the base cannot top up the pack and the handset's standby draw pulls the battery flat by morning. Wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, press the handset firmly into the cradle, and confirm the charging indicator light comes on. If it does, the battery will hold charge through the night.
