Fits GSmart S1 and Sierra S1 smartphones; replaces OEM battery BL-182.
3.7V at 2000mAh capacity delivers 7.4Wh — standard for this phone's processor, display, and modem draw.
Connector seats into the S1 battery slot with positive terminal facing outward; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell on the S1 fuel gauge IC; BMS accepted charge current without fault codes on first insertion.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GSmart S1 / Sierra S1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-182)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GSmart S1 and Sierra S1 smartphones. It carries OEM part number BL-182 and slots into the same battery bay as the factory cell. Dimensions are 74.90 × 62.70 × 4.10 mm — verify these against your existing battery before installing.

  • S1 and Sierra S1 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, BL-182 part number, and 3.7V power rail to the application processor and modem. One cell fits both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the S1 platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile without triggering overcurrent cutoff, and the protection circuit held the low-voltage cutoff correctly at cell depletion.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes energy into an uncalibrated cell — otherwise percentage readings will drift.

Why the GSmart S1 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The S1 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by measuring accumulated current flow — a coulomb counter approach. When you fit a new cell, the IC still holds the charge curve data from the old, degraded battery. The mismatch means the percentage shown can read 40% while the cell is already near voltage floor. One full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the counter to the new cell's actual capacity.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display draws a high current pulse and the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. On a new cell this usually means the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated to the fresh discharge curve. Run one complete cycle without interruption. If the shutdowns continue after that cycle, check that the battery contacts are clean and seating flat — a resistive connection causes the same voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GSmart S1 shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the replacement cell faulty?

Not necessarily faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the S1 was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports percentage based on stale data. Under a modem or screen load spike, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, and the BMS trips the cutoff before the display reaches 0%. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — this resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve.

After fitting the BL-182, the phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge — is something wrong?

Mild warmth on the first charge cycle is normal. A fresh high-impedance cell draws slightly more voltage from the charge IC while it conditions, which generates more heat than a broken-in cell does. If the phone stays warm throughout the entire charge and the temperature is uncomfortable to touch, remove the phone from the charger and let it cool before continuing. After the first full cycle, heat during charging should return to the level you saw with the original battery.

The GSmart S1 will not power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months — how do I recover it?

A cell stored uncharged for months often drops below 2.5V, which triggers the BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to a normal charge attempt in this state. Connect it to a low-current USB charger — a basic 5V/500mA wall adapter works better than a fast charger here — and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The BMS trickle-charges the cell back above the 2.5V recovery threshold before allowing a normal charge to begin. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, continue to a full charge before first use.
