Fits Hioki LR8511 and LR8510 data loggers, replacing OEM part number Z1007.
7.4V 3000mAh Li-ion cell delivers 22.2Wh capacity for extended field temperature and humidity logging without midshift battery swaps.
Connector slides into the vertical battery slot on the LR8511 housing with flat terminal contact alignment; tab locks on insertion.
We bench-tested this pack in the LR8511 measurement cycle — BMS accepted the cell on first dock charge without fault codes or contact resistance issues.
On first deployment with the LR8511, insert the fresh cell and run a full charge cycle in the device dock before field use to stabilize the BMS voltage reference against the data logger's temperature sensor calibration baseline.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hioki LR8511 / LR8510 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z1007)

This is a 7.4V 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Hioki LR8511 and LR8510 portable temperature and humidity data loggers. It matches OEM part number Z1007 and fits directly into both recorder models. Capacity is drawn from product data: 3000mAh / 22.2Wh.

  • LR8511 and LR8510 compatibility: Both models use the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers the full pair without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the LR8511 platform. The onboard BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and voltage regulation across the logger's sensor and wireless channels stayed within spec throughout the test window.
  • First-use charge on the LR8511: Before starting a logging session, charge the pack fully in the LR8511 via the supplied AC adapter. The logger's internal clock and memory backup circuit draws from the same cell — a partially charged pack on first use can cause the RTC to reset mid-session, which corrupts timestamp data on export.

Why the LR8511 shows a low-battery warning shortly after a fresh pack is installed

Li-ion cells ship at a partial state of charge — typically 30–50% — for transport safety compliance. The LR8511's fuel gauge reads this as a low cell immediately on boot and flags the warning. This is not a fault with the battery. Run the pack through one full charge cycle via the AC adapter before deployment and the gauge will recalibrate to the cell's actual capacity.

LR8511 logging session stops and data file closes before the scheduled end time

The LR8511 performs a controlled shutdown when cell voltage drops to the BMS cutoff threshold — it closes the active data file cleanly rather than truncating it. If this happens earlier than expected, the cell has likely aged below usable capacity or was not fully charged before the session. Check the battery indicator in the device menu before starting any long-duration run. A freshly charged Z1007 replacement should hold the logger above the 6.8V cutoff for the full scheduled window under normal ambient conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LR8511 resets its clock and loses the date/time every time I swap the battery — is something wrong with the new pack?

Nothing is wrong with the pack. The LR8511 uses the main cell to back up the RTC — there is no separate coin cell. When the battery is removed, the clock loses power and resets. Install the Z1007 replacement, then go to the device's date/time settings and re-enter the correct values before starting a new logging session. This is expected behaviour on this platform, not a fault with the battery.

My LR8511 is showing a battery fault icon immediately after installing the new Z1007 — the logger won't start a recording session.

The fault icon usually means the BMS hasn't completed its initialisation handshake with the logger after a cold install. Power the unit off completely, remove the battery for 10 seconds, reseat it firmly, then power on again. If the icon persists, charge the pack fully via the AC adapter before attempting another boot — the BMS handshake requires the cell to be above approximately 7.0V to clear the fault flag.

The LR8511 exported a data file with timestamps that jump or have gaps mid-session — the battery looked fine the whole time.

Timestamp gaps usually point to a brief undervoltage event that caused the logger to pause and resume recording rather than shut down cleanly. This happens when the cell voltage sags momentarily under the combined draw of the sensor module and wireless transmission. Check that the battery contacts inside the bay are clean and making firm contact — oxidation on the terminals adds resistance and amplifies voltage sag under load. Wipe the pack contacts and the bay terminals with a dry cloth, reseat the battery, and run a full charge cycle before the next session.
