Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio DT-X30 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HA-G20BAT)

This is a 7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion battery for the Casio DT-X30 mobile barcode scanner. It fits the DT-X30, DT-X30G, DT-X30GR-30C, and IT-9000 handheld units. Capacity is 22.2Wh, matching the original HA-G20BAT specification.

  • DT-X30 and IT-9000 platform fit: These models share the same 7.4V power rail, battery bay dimensions, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full range without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through cold-boot, active scan bursts, and wireless polling cycles. The BMS held voltage within spec under combined radio and trigger inrush loads without tripping a false low-cell fault.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum charge, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the opening scans of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a pack fault. The DT-X30 cradle uses spring-loaded gold contacts that oxidise and collect debris from repeated insertions. Resistance above roughly 0.2Ω on the contact pins causes the dock to read a handshake fault and abort the charge cycle. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly until it clicks.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan burst, the imager and the wireless radio draw current simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum operating threshold — typically around 6.8V under combined load — the wireless stack drops the connection before the BMS trips on low cell voltage. A degraded or partially charged battery sags further and faster under this combined draw than it does at rest. Charge the pack fully before a high-throughput shift and check that the battery contacts are clean, since contact resistance amplifies voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DT-X30 stopped reading barcodes right after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped at storage charge (around 50–60%) may sit just above the BMS cutoff but below what the imager needs for full laser or LED power. Place the scanner in the cradle and run a full charge cycle before scanning. If it still won't read after a full charge, clean the scan window — a new battery often gets blamed for a dirty optic.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem?

Moderate warmth is normal. The DT-X30 housing is compact, and sustained scanning plus continuous wireless polling generate heat that has limited surface area to dissipate. If the pack is hot to the touch rather than warm, that points to a cell that is overworking — usually because scan frequency is high and the battery is operating near its capacity floor. Let the pack cool before reseating in the cradle, and check that the housing vents and cradle contacts are clear of debris.

This battery doesn't seem to last as long per shift as the old one did — what affects scan endurance on the DT-X30?

Two loads run continuously on this platform: the imager firing on every trigger pull and the wireless radio polling the network between scans. High scan burst frequency and a short wireless polling interval both draw from the same 3000mAh cell. If the previous battery was a higher-capacity aftermarket pack, the difference is real — this pack matches the original HA-G20BAT at 3000mAh. Check your wireless polling interval in the device settings and reduce it if the application allows; that alone measurably reduces the background drain between scan cycles.
