Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Kyman — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (94ACC1302)
This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 94ACC1302 in the Datalogic Kyman handheld barcode scanner. The Kyman is used in warehouse, logistics, and retail point-of-sale environments where continuous scanning uptime is critical. Voltage and capacity match the original pack exactly — no firmware changes or adapter required.
- Kyman platform fit: The Kyman battery bay uses a keyed connector tied to a specific BMS handshake at 7.4V. Compatible OEM references include 94ACC1302, 700175303, 944501055, 944501056, 944501057, 944501088, 944551004, and 944551005 — all share the same voltage rail and physical form factor.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling draws. The BMS held stable through combined inrush loads and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without false trips.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle before the shift starts. The scan trigger draws peak inrush current at low state-of-charge — a fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first scan burst of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
The Kyman cradle reads battery state through the dock contacts on the base of the scanner. If those contacts have oxidation or dust from shelf storage, the dock detects an incomplete circuit and throws a charging fault — not a battery fault. Remove the scanner, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. The error clears immediately in most cases once contact resistance drops back below threshold.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The Kyman draws simultaneously from the wireless radio and the scan trigger during a rapid-fire burst. On a degraded or partially charged cell, this combined inrush causes a momentary voltage sag that drops below the radio module's minimum operating voltage — the radio resets and the connection drops. This is not a wireless fault; it is a power-delivery issue. Ensure the battery is above 50% charge before high-frequency scanning shifts, and check that the pack voltage reads at least 7.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Kyman scanner won't read barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
The imager or laser in the Kyman needs a minimum voltage to fire at full power. If the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be too low to sustain the scan trigger draw. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge fully before use — once the pack reaches 8.0V, the imager fires reliably and reads should return to normal.
The scanner feels warm after a long shift and the battery drains faster than expected — is that normal?
Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates steady heat inside the Kyman's enclosed housing. That thermal load causes the BMS to slightly derate output current as a protection measure, which can make the pack appear to drain faster near end-of-shift. It is not a fault — it is the BMS doing its job. If the housing is too hot to hold comfortably, reduce scan burst frequency or allow a 10-minute rest and check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact.
The previous battery lasted a full shift but this original pack only gets through half — what shortened it?
Original Kyman packs degrade through shallow-cycle use — frequent top-up charges in the cradle between short shifts accelerate capacity fade without fully cycling the cells. The replacement pack at 2600mAh matches the original spec, but if the cradle habit continues, the new pack will show the same pattern. Run the scanner down to below 20% charge before docking at end of shift to allow a deeper cycle, which keeps the cells calibrated and slows capacity fade.
