Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoft & Wessel HW 19270 / allegro LSi — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (T39300)
This 3.7V, 3800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original T39300 pack in the Hoft & Wessel HW 19270 and allegro LSi handheld barcode scanners. These units run in retail and warehouse environments where the scanner stays active across full shifts. Swap this in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a working day.
- HW 19270 and allegro LSi compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers both. The T39300 part number spans this platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through charge and discharge cycles on a compatible unit. The BMS responded correctly to both cradle charging and trigger-pull inrush events, with no false cutoffs observed at any state of charge.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and a fully charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping during the first burst of high-frequency scanning.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new T39300 pack
Some HW 19270 cradles flag a charging fault when contact resistance at the dock pins rises above the threshold the charging circuit expects. This is a contact issue, not a pack fault. The dock pins and the gold contacts on the battery face oxidise over time, especially in dusty warehouse environments. Wipe both surfaces with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the error clears — charging should resume within 30 seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During rapid scan sequences, the scanner draws current simultaneously from the imager and the wireless radio. That combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag across the cell. If the cell voltage dips below approximately 3.2V under that combined load, the BMS may briefly interrupt output, which the radio interprets as a dropout. A fresh, fully charged T39300 pack holds voltage under this dual draw far better than a degraded original cell — seat the scanner in the cradle until the charge indicator confirms 100% before a high-frequency scanning shift.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HW 19270 scanner stops reading barcodes partway through the shift even though the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?
A degraded original cell can show charge on the indicator but drop below the imager's minimum operating voltage the moment the scan trigger pulls current. The indicator reads resting voltage, which stays elevated even when the cell can no longer sustain load. Swap in the new T39300 pack and run a full cradle charge before the shift — the imager needs the cell to hold above 3.4V under trigger-pull load to fire reliably.
The scanner runs noticeably warm after a few hours of use — is that a battery problem or a device problem?
Sustained heat across a full shift in the HW 19270 is usually a cell efficiency issue, not a device fault. An aged cell with high internal resistance converts more energy to heat under the combined draw of the wireless radio and repeated scan triggers. We measured cell temperature during bench cycling — a fresh T39300 pack runs measurably cooler than a degraded original at equivalent load because internal resistance is within spec. If the new pack still runs hot after two full charge cycles, check that the scanner housing vents are clear of dust.
The new battery charged fully overnight but the scanner's shift endurance is noticeably shorter than we expected — what affects how long it actually lasts per shift?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval together set the real current draw, and both are higher than most users expect. A scanner polling its base station every 100ms while firing the imager 30–40 times per minute draws significantly more than light intermittent use. Check the wireless polling interval in the scanner's configuration utility and reduce it if the application allows — dropping from 100ms to 500ms polling alone can extend usable charge meaningfully. Also confirm the cradle charge indicator reached 100% before the shift, not just the scanner's own indicator.
