Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Spectre Pro X360 — 11.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PK03XL)
This is an 11.4V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP Spectre Pro X360 and Spectre 13-4000 series convertible laptops. It carries OEM part numbers PK03XL, HSTNN-DB6S, and TPN-Q157, among others. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds a useful charge or fails to register in the OS at all.
- Spectre X360 convertible compatibility: The Spectre Pro X360, Spectre 13-4003DX, and Spectre x360 Convertible PC all share the same three-cell Li-Polymer pack configuration, voltage rail, and connector pinout — which is why one SKU covers the full lineup including 162+ additional Spectre variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Spectre x360 platform, confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly, and verified the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell data without throwing a fault code.
- Post-install calibration for the Spectre X360: After fitting, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on first boot after every cell swap.
Why the Spectre X360 BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a swap
The Spectre X360 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM written by the original factory cell. When a replacement cell is installed, that EEPROM data no longer matches the new chemistry profile, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded or unknown before any real testing occurs. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running HP's battery learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — overwrites the stale EEPROM reference and clears the warning.
Spectre X360 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The OS reads a percentage based on old discharge data, but the new cell hits its voltage cliff earlier in the curve than the stale model predicts. The laptop shuts down because real voltage drops below safe threshold while the gauge still shows charge remaining. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted-charge cycles — after the second cycle the gauge recalibrates and the shutdown should resolve at or below 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP Support Assistant says my new battery has 0% health — is the cell dead already?
No. The Spectre X360 pulls health data from EEPROM written by the original factory cell, and a replacement cell hasn't yet provided a matching data set. The BIOS flags it as unknown or degraded purely on that mismatch. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this completes the BIOS battery learn cycle and replaces the stale EEPROM reference.
Windows is reporting the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it shows a different number than the box
The Spectre X360 reads the Wh rating from EEPROM data stored by the old cell, not from a live measurement of the new one. Until the fuel gauge IC completes at least one calibration cycle against the new cell, Windows will display the rated Wh value from the previous battery's stored profile. After one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge cycle, the system recalculates and the displayed Wh value should update to reflect the actual 55.86Wh of this cell.
My Spectre X360 charges fine but the battery percentage jumps around wildly for the first few days
The fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge model to estimate remaining charge, and that model is built against the old cell's chemistry curve. The new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage profile, so percentage readings swing until the IC gathers enough real-world discharge data to rebuild its model. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100% — the gauge stabilises once it has two full reference cycles logged.
