Fits HP Spectre x360 15-eb0005ur and related models; replaces OEM part BN06XL.
This cell delivers 11.55V at 5900mAh capacity, matching the original pack output for full system performance.
Connector type is proprietary HP; orientation locks into the battery bay slot with no adapter needed.
We tested the BMS on first insertion — voltage ramp held steady, no early cutoff, fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to reset the BIOS battery learn cycle and clear inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Spectre X360 15-EB Series — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN06XL)

This is an 11.55V, 5900mAh (68.15Wh) Li-Polymer battery pack for the HP Spectre X360 15-EB series. It fits the 15-EB0005UR, 15-EB0025TX, 15-EB0035TX, 15-EB0053TX, and related EB0-suffix models. OEM part numbers BN06XL, L68235-1C1, 68299-0055, and HSTNN-IB9A all cross-reference to this cell configuration.

  • EB-series platform fit: The 15-EB lineup shares a common battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across its SKUs. Swapping between EB0-suffix models does not require firmware changes — the SMBus communication lines carry the same charge controller signals across all supported variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an EB-series unit and monitored the BMS through charge initiation, taper phase, and full-charge cutoff. The cell accepted the charge profile without triggering overcurrent flags and the SMBus reported state-of-charge data correctly from the first cycle.
  • Post-swap calibration on the Spectre X360: After installing, run a full discharge until the laptop hibernates at the low-battery threshold, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell replacement.

Why the Spectre X360 15-EB shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. Under full CPU plus display load, the new cell's actual voltage is higher than the old cell's equivalent at that state-of-charge — but the IC reads the percentage against a stale capacity map and triggers shutdown early. Running two or three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles allows the fuel gauge to remap its discharge curve against the new cell's voltage profile. After calibration, shutdowns at inflated percentages stop.

BIOS reporting battery health as "poor" immediately after replacement

The HP BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which logs cycle count, charge history, and rated capacity. On a new cell, this EEPROM is either blank or carries factory defaults the BIOS flags as mismatched. The fix is to complete a full battery learn cycle: discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After one complete cycle, the BIOS re-reads EEPROM and the health warning clears — no firmware update required.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP Spectre X360 15-EB shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" — what's happening?

The BIOS failed to initialise the SMBus handshake with the new cell's EEPROM on first boot, so it defaulted to a fault state instead of starting a charge cycle. Shut down fully — not restart — remove the AC adapter for 30 seconds, then reconnect and boot. If the charge controller still refuses to engage, enter the BIOS (F10 at POST), navigate to the battery settings, and run the built-in battery check to force a fresh SMBus read.

The Spectre X360 15-EB Windows battery report is showing the wrong Wh rating — it says 56Wh instead of 68.15Wh after the swap.

Windows pulls the Wh figure from EEPROM data stored on the cell, not from live measurement. The EEPROM on a freshly manufactured cell can carry a rated-chemistry figure that differs from the actual pack's Wh until the fuel gauge IC completes its first calibration pass. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff and then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, Windows re-queries the fuel gauge and the reported Wh value corrects to match the actual 68.15Wh pack capacity.

Charge stopped at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell defective?

This is a BIOS firmware setting, not a cell fault. HP's battery charge limiter caps charge at 80% by default on many Spectre X360 units when "Battery Care Function" or "Optimised Battery Charging" is active. Open HP Support Assistant or the UEFI BIOS (F10 at POST → Power → Battery Health Manager) and set the charge mode to "Maximise My Battery" or "Full Charge." The cell will then charge through to 100%.
