Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer ConceptD 3 CN315-72G Series — 15.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP19D5P)
This is a 15.4V, 4750mAh (73.15Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Acer ConceptD 3 CN315-72G-70P5 and related CN315-72G, CC314-72G models. It uses OEM part number AP19D5P and connects directly to the existing power rail in this 15.4V notebook platform. When the original cell degrades, this restores full charge capacity to the machine.
- ConceptD 3 CN315-72G platform fit: These models share a common 15.4V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture and the same AP19D5P connector and BMS handshake spec. The fuel gauge IC expects a cell rated at 73.15Wh — this battery matches that figure so BIOS reads capacity correctly after calibration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the CN315-72G platform. The BMS accepted the replacement without firmware rejection, and the charge controller reached full termination at 16.8V as expected for a 15.4V nominal four-cell pack.
- First-cycle calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on nearly every cell swap in this series.
ConceptD 3 shutting down at 20–30% charge under GPU and CPU load
The CN315-72G carries both a discrete GPU and a high-draw CPU. Under sustained rendering or video export, combined draw can pull the cell voltage into a sharp cliff before the OS gauge reaches 0%. The BMS interprets this voltage drop as a critically low cell and triggers an emergency cutoff to prevent damage. This is not a faulty battery — it is the fuel gauge IC losing track of the actual state of charge because the EEPROM data from the old cell is still influencing the estimate. Run two full learn cycles and the cutoff threshold will shift to the correct point.
BIOS reporting wrong Wh rating after AP19D5P swap
After a cell swap, the BIOS may display a Wh figure that does not match the 73.15Wh spec of this battery. This happens because the EEPROM in the old cell stored a different rated value, and the system cached that figure. The new cell broadcasts its own EEPROM data, but the BIOS does not always flush the cached value until a full learn cycle is completed. Discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, charge to 100% uninterrupted, and the reported Wh will update to reflect the AP19D5P spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Windows showing my new Acer ConceptD 3 battery as 0% or "unknown" straight after fitting it?
The fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data written by the old cell. It has no calibration reference for the new chemistry yet, so it reports an unknown or zero state. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the IC maps its charge curve to the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.
My ConceptD 3 battery health shows as poor in BIOS immediately after I put in a new cell — is it defective?
It is not defective. The BIOS battery learn cycle stores health data from the previous cell and flags anything that deviates from that cached baseline as degraded. This warning appears on almost every cell swap in the CN315-72G series. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate then full uninterrupted charge cycle and the BIOS will re-run its learn cycle against the new AP19D5P cell and clear the warning.
The charge on my replacement AP19D5P stopped at 80% and will not go higher — what is causing that?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell. Acer's firmware on several ConceptD models activates an 80% charge cap when it detects what it classifies as a battery health concern — often triggered by leftover EEPROM data from the old cell. Go to Acer Care Center or the BIOS power settings, locate the battery care or charge limit option, and set it to 100%. If the cap re-enables itself, complete a full calibration cycle first so the BIOS recognises the new cell correctly.
