Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Veer 4G / P160U — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP3 / 157-10151-00)
This is a 3.7V 920mAh Li-ion battery for the HP Veer and Veer 4G smartphones (models P160U and P160UEU). It replaces OEM part numbers BP3 and 157-10151-00. The Veer's compact chassis leaves almost no room for a swollen or degraded cell — swap it before the original starts pressing against the screen assembly.
- Veer and Veer 4G compatibility: The P160U and P160UEU share the same battery bay dimensions (43.80 × 34.50 × 5.50mm), voltage rail, and connector pinout — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the Veer platform. The BMS handshake completed on the first cycle, charge IC accepted the cell without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and let the phone complete one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one clean reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the HP Veer after a cell swap
The Veer's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with different internal resistance causes the IC to misread remaining capacity. When the modem transmits or the screen brightness peaks, actual cell voltage drops faster than the IC expects and the BMS cuts power abruptly — often between 20–30% reported charge. One complete discharge-recharge cycle resets the reference data. After that cycle, the percentage reading stabilises and early shutdowns stop.
HP Veer won't power on after sitting in storage
Li-ion cells stored at low charge self-discharge over weeks. If the cell drops below 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow entirely — the phone shows nothing when you press power or connect a charger. Connect the Veer to a low-current USB source (a standard 5V 500mA port, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Once the cell climbs above 2.8V, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows no response after an hour, check the charging port contacts before concluding the cell is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HP Veer shows the right percentage all day but cuts off suddenly around 25% — is the new battery defective?
It is not defective — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has different internal resistance, so when modem or screen load spikes, voltage collapses faster than the IC predicts and the BMS shuts down. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that single reference cycle, the IC recalibrates and the early cutoff stops.
The battery percentage on my Veer jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — it went from 60% to 34% in two minutes.
This is the coulomb counter losing sync with a cell it has never measured. The HP Veer's fuel gauge IC tracks capacity by integrating current, but its baseline was set against the original cell's chemistry and impedance profile. Until it observes one complete discharge-to-shutdown and full recharge, the percentage estimates are unreliable. Complete that one calibration cycle and the readings settle — no hardware fault is involved.
My Veer gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacing the cell — should I stop charging it?
Mild warmth on the first few cycles is normal. A new high-impedance cell requires the charge IC to work harder to push current in, which generates more heat than a well-cycled cell does. If the phone is warm but you can hold it comfortably, continue charging. If it becomes hot to the touch or the phone shuts down mid-charge, disconnect immediately and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and heat significantly. Normal warmth should reduce after three to four full cycles as the cell's impedance drops.
