Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Grand X / Grand X LTE — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3716T42P3h594650)
This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion cell that fits the ZTE Grand X, Grand X 3G, Grand X LTE, Mimosa X, and over 47 additional ZTE models sharing the same OEM part family. It replaces cells that no longer hold a charge or fail to power the phone past the boot screen. Voltage and capacity match the original Li3716T42P3h594650 specification exactly.
- Grand X platform compatibility: The Grand X, Grand X 3G, and Grand X LTE all share a common 3.7V battery bay and connector pinout, which is why ZTE assigned multiple part numbers — Li3716T42P3h594650, Li3717T43P3h494650, and Li3717T43P3h594650 — to the same physical cell format across the lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on a ZTE Grand X unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without flag or error, and the charge IC stepped through its standard constant-current to constant-voltage transition cleanly at 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Grand X after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff failure. The old fuel gauge IC was calibrated to an aged, high-internal-resistance cell. The new cell has a steeper discharge curve at the low end, so the OS reads 25% but the actual cell voltage is already close to the BMS low-voltage cutoff of around 3.0V. Under modem or screen load, current draw pulls the cell below that threshold instantly and the phone shuts off. Run one full discharge to near shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — this forces the coulomb counter to reset its endpoints against the actual new cell capacity.
ZTE Grand X not powering on after sitting in storage
Phones stored for weeks or months often drain below the BMS lockout voltage — typically 2.5V per cell — and the protection circuit opens, blocking all current flow. Connecting the charger at this point shows nothing on screen because the charge IC cannot communicate with a locked-out BMS. Plug in the OEM or a known-good charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons — most ZTE BMS units re-initialise once the charger holds the cell above 2.8V. If the phone still shows no charging indicator after that window, check that the charger is delivering at least 5V/1A at the port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my ZTE Grand X show the wrong battery percentage after fitting this new cell?
The fuel gauge IC inside the phone was calibrated to the old, degraded cell's discharge curve — its coulomb counter has the wrong capacity endpoints stored. The new 1400mAh cell discharges differently, so the percentage reading drifts immediately. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge to full without interruption. After that single cycle the fuel gauge resets its endpoints and percentage accuracy stabilises.
My ZTE Grand X gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is something wrong?
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several cycles. The charge IC delivers the same constant-current it always does, but a higher-impedance cell dissipates more energy as heat during that phase. This is normal for the first two or three charge cycles and settles as the cell breaks in. If the phone feels hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold — above roughly 45°C — stop charging, let it cool, and check that nothing is blocking airflow around the back cover.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my ZTE Grand X — how do I fix it?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet exchanged handshake data with the phone's charge controller, so the controller falls back to standard 5V/1A charging as a precaution. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. At that point the charge IC renegotiates the charging profile with the new BMS and fast charge should re-engage — confirm by checking that the charging indicator shows the fast-charge icon within 30 seconds of reconnecting.
