Fits HTC One M8s (model A5) and replaces OEM part number B0P9C100.
3.8V and 2600mAh rating restores full charge capacity to the M8s processor, display, and cellular modem.
Connector slides onto the stock contact pad with a single locking tab — orientation marked on the cell itself.
We bench-tested this cell in an M8s unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC Desire 816 / A5 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B0P9C100)

This is a 3.8V, 2600mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the HTC Desire 816, Desire 816w, Desire 816 Dual SIM, and A5 series smartphones. It matches the OEM part numbers B0P9C100, 35H00220-01M, and 35H00220-00M. Install it when the original cell no longer holds enough charge for a full day of use.

  • Desire 816 / A5 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The 74.95 × 69.50 × 3.28mm cell fits without modification, and the charge IC handshake proceeds normally on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Desire 816 unit. The BMS accepted charge termination correctly at 4.35V, and no thermal cutoff events triggered during the test cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Desire 816 after a cell swap

The Desire 816 uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge that was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the reported state of charge does not match actual cell voltage. Under modem load or screen brightness spikes, the new cell's voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS percentage reaches zero — and the phone shuts off. One full slow discharge to 0% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the counter. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage, and if this battery dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS entered deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage. Plugging in a charger may show no response for the first 10–15 minutes while the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Leave the phone connected without pressing the power button. Once cell voltage climbs above 3.0V, the BMS re-initialises and the device will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Desire 816 percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the Desire 816 stores a learned discharge curve from the old battery, and it applies that curve to the new cell immediately — which produces inaccurate, erratic readings. Run one complete slow discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve and percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only slow charges now.

The Desire 816's charge IC runs a handshake with the battery BMS on the first cycle to verify cell parameters before allowing high-current charging. On a new, uncalibrated cell, some units default to slow charge for the first full cycle as a precaution. Complete one full charge-to-100% at the slow rate, disconnect, then reconnect — fast charging typically resumes on the second session once the BMS has logged a completed cycle.

The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC pushes current into slightly more resistance than it expects — generating mild heat. This is normal for the first two or three charge cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the warmth is uncomfortable to touch or the phone triggers a temperature warning on-screen, stop the charge and let the device cool to room temperature before resuming at a lower charge rate. By the third full cycle, surface temperature during charging should match what you saw with the original battery.
