Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC P3650 / Touch Cruise — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (POLA160)
This 3.7V 1350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the HTC P3650, Touch Cruise, Touch Find, and Polaris 100. It uses the same OEM part numbers POLA160 and 35H00101-00M and fits the same battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.
- P3650 / Touch Cruise platform compatibility: These models share a common battery bay format, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. The same cell works across the P3650, Touch Cruise, Touch Find, and Polaris 100 because HTC used one battery spec across this platform generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the P3650. The BMS accepted charge from the onboard charge IC without error, voltage held stable across screen-on and modem-active draw, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The P3650 fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this cycle causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately for the first several days of use.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the HTC P3650
The P3650 shuts down abruptly at 20–30% because the fuel gauge IC still references the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When modem activity or screen brightness spikes current draw, the new cell's voltage drops briefly below the threshold the gauge expects at that state of charge. The phone interprets this as a dead battery and cuts power. One full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates this behaviour. After that cycle, the gauge tracks the new cell's actual curve and shutdowns stop.
Phone shows incorrect battery percentage after cell swap
The HTC P3650 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model from accumulated charge and discharge data on the installed cell. Swapping to a new cell does not reset this model automatically — the IC keeps using the old cell's learned curve, so the percentage display drifts or jumps within the first few charge cycles. To force a recalibration, drain the phone fully until it powers off on its own, then charge it to 100% without interruption. The gauge IC rebuilds its curve against the new cell during that single controlled cycle, and percentage accuracy stabilises from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HTC P3650 powers off by itself when the screen is on and percentage still shows 25% — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the P3650 is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old cell, so the percentage counter does not match the new cell's actual voltage under load. When the screen and modem draw current simultaneously, voltage dips below the IC's stored cutoff threshold and the phone shuts down. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the IC recalibrates against the new cell — shutdowns at 20–30% stop after that cycle.
The P3650 doesn't seem to be charging past about 80% since I fitted the replacement cell — what's going on?
This happens because the charge IC on the P3650 uses a termination signal based on charge current dropping to a set threshold. On a new cell with slightly higher internal impedance than a worn cell, the current taper happens earlier in the charge cycle, and the IC terminates charge before the cell is full. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown and then charge without interruption to 100% — this gives the charge IC a clean baseline cycle on the new cell and restores full charge acceptance. Termination voltage should reach 4.2V at the end of that cycle.
My P3650 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I fitted it — is it dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V while sitting unused, the BMS will have locked out to prevent damage. The phone will not power on and will not respond to a charger in this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC on the P3650 runs a trickle pre-charge mode that slowly recovers the cell voltage back above the BMS unlock threshold; once voltage reaches around 3.0V, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes.
