Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Honor V9 / Honor 8 Pro — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB376994ECW)
This is a 3.82V, 4000mAh (15.28Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Huawei Honor V9, Honor 8 Pro, and compatible variants including DUK-AL20 and DUK-TL30. It replaces the original HB376994ECW cell and restores power to the display, Kirin processor, and LTE modem. Install it when the original cell degrades, swells, or can no longer hold a consistent charge through a full day.
- Honor V9 and DUK-series compatibility: The DUK-AL20, DUK-TL30, and Honor 8 Pro share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC interface as the standard Honor V9. All run the same HB376994ECW cell spec — 92.40 × 68.70 × 3.50mm with matched BMS communication lines.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on an Honor V9 unit. The BMS accepted the cell handshake without rejection, charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly, and protection cutoffs triggered at expected thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable Huawei's SuperCharge for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. Running SuperCharge before that first full cycle pushes high current into an uncalibrated cell and produces inaccurate percentage readings for weeks.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Honor V9 after a cell swap
The Honor V9 shuts down before the percentage hits zero because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. The new cell's internal resistance profile is different, and under modem or display load, voltage sags past the hardware cutoff point even when the reported percentage looks safe. This is not a faulty battery — it is a calibration gap. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without SuperCharge enabled, and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell's actual voltage floor.
SuperCharge not activating after battery replacement
Huawei's SuperCharge protocol requires a handshake between the charge IC and the battery BMS on the first connection. If the BMS has not yet been initialised — common when a replacement cell ships in partial-discharge storage state — the charge IC falls back to standard 5V charging and SuperCharge never engages. Connect the phone to a SuperCharge adapter and let it charge uninterrupted to 100% without rebooting mid-cycle. On most units, the protocol handshake completes by the second charge session and the fast charge indicator returns.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Honor V9 powers off at around 25% after swapping the battery — is the new cell actually dead?
It is not dead. The fuel gauge IC on the Honor V9 stores the discharge curve of the original cell, and a new cell with different internal resistance causes voltage to sag below the hardware cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run two full discharge-charge cycles with SuperCharge disabled, and the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell. After calibration, shutdowns before 10% should stop.
The battery percentage on my Honor V9 jumps around after replacement — it went from 60% to 41% in seconds.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has never seen before. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the old cell was removed, and it is now estimating capacity from voltage readings alone, which produces erratic jumps. Discharge the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% in a single uninterrupted session without rebooting. Repeat once more and the percentage display will stabilise.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the back panel while charging the new battery — is that normal?
A freshly installed Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC compensates by running slightly higher current in the constant-current phase, which produces more heat at the cell surface than you may have seen with the worn original. This reduces after three to five charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone is warm to the touch but not hot and charging completes normally, no action is needed — if it gets hot or charging stops early, check that the SuperCharge adapter output is within 5V/4.5A or 9V/2A.
