Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG V20 / VS995 Series — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-44E1F)
This is a 3200mAh, 3.85V Li-ion cell built to the BL-44E1F specification. It fits the LG V20, VS995, H990ds, US996, and 22 additional models that share the same removable battery bay and BMS handshake protocol. Capacity is 12.32Wh — confirmed from product data, not estimated.
- V20 / VS995 platform compatibility: These models run the same battery bay dimensions (81.90 × 60.80 × 4.20mm), the same 3.85V nominal rail, and the same BMS communication lines. A cell built to BL-44E1F spec fits all of them without connector modification or firmware changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a VS995 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell on first insertion, charge current stepped correctly through CC/CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff under a sustained screen-on load test.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amperage into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VS995 after a cell swap
The VS995's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of your original, degraded cell. When a fresh 3200mAh cell is installed, the IC still references the old curve. Under modem load or screen brightness spikes, the new cell's actual terminal voltage drops faster than the IC expects at that reported percentage, triggering a low-voltage shutdown. This is not a cell defect — it is a calibration mismatch. Run one full discharge to 3.0V under normal use, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual capacity.
USB fast charge not activating after BL-44E1F installation
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the V20's charge IC may stay in trickle or standard mode rather than switching to Qualcomm Quick Charge. The charge IC uses BMS handshake data to confirm cell state before allowing high current — a new cell with no charge history can cause the IC to default to a conservative profile. This usually self-corrects after the first full charge cycle completes. If fast charging still does not activate after cycle two, confirm the charger delivers at least 9V/1.67A and the cable supports the current load — the issue is more often the cable than the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG VS995 powers off suddenly around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The VS995's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of your worn original cell, not the new 3200mAh replacement. When load spikes — mobile data handoff, screen-on burst — the terminal voltage drops below what the IC expects at that reported percentage, and the protection circuit cuts power. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard (non-fast) current. That single cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.
The battery percentage on my V20 jumps around erratically after swapping in the new cell — 60% one minute, then 45% seconds later.
Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC symptom, not a cell defect. The IC's stored charge-state model no longer matches the new cell's impedance and discharge profile, so voltage-to-percentage conversion produces unstable output. The fix is one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard charge current with the phone in normal use — no fast charging on that first cycle. After the cycle completes, the IC rebuilds its internal model against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.
My LG V20 won't power on at all after the replacement BL-44E1F battery sat in storage before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BL-44E1F dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell during that time, the BMS will have entered deep-discharge lockout to prevent an unsafe charge event. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC will deliver a low-current pre-charge to bring the cell above the BMS re-initialisation threshold (typically around 3.0V), after which the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
