This is a 14.4V Ni-MH replacement battery rated at 3600mAh (51.84Wh) for the Infinuvo Cleanmate QQ-3, QQ-3L, QQ-3LT, and QQ3 robotic vacuum cleaners. It replaces the OEM part APQQ3-30 when the original cell pack has lost capacity or fails to hold charge. If your Cleanmate is cutting cleaning cycles short or refusing to power on from the dock, this is the cell pack that needs replacing.
- QQ-3 series compatibility: The QQ-3, QQ-3L, QQ-3LT, and QQ3 all share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector, and BMS communication protocol — one cell pack covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Cleanmate's charge and discharge cycle on the bench. The BMS accepted the handshake from the dock charger correctly, balancing cells without triggering a fault state at any point during the test cycle.
- Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH: Do not leave the QQ-3 sitting on the dock permanently between cleans. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the QQ-3
This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell pack can cleanly deliver at that state of charge. A partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling amps the ageing Ni-MH cells can no longer sustain without voltage sag. The robot's onboard controller interprets that voltage dip as a low-battery condition and backs off motor speed before the indicator LED reflects it. Clear the filter first — if suction still drops early with a fresh filter, the cell pack is the cause.
QQ-3 motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a full power failure. When the brush roll encounters a restriction — carpet fringe, a rug edge, accumulated debris — the motor stall current spikes, and the BMS opens the discharge circuit to protect the cells. Once current drops, the BMS resets and the motor restarts. This pattern repeats when the underlying draw issue is not resolved. Check the brush roll for tangled hair or debris, and verify the filter is clean before suspecting the battery pack itself.

Yes — that is capacity fade on the Ni-MH cell pack. As cells age, usable capacity shrinks, so the voltage drops to the robot's cutoff threshold before the clean finishes. A blocked or dirty filter accelerates this by forcing the motor to draw more current than rated, draining the pack faster. Fit this replacement, then clean the filter before the first full cycle.
The QQ-3 sits on the dock all the time between cleans — could that have killed the original battery faster than normal?
It almost certainly contributed. Ni-MH cells kept on continuous trickle charge from a dock accumulate heat and experience a known degradation pattern called continuous-charge capacity fade. The QQ-3 dock does not disconnect the charger once the pack is full — it keeps trickling. With this replacement pack, charge to full and physically remove the robot from the dock rather than leaving it docked indefinitely.
The replacement battery is installed and the dock light comes on, but the QQ-3 still won't power up after a full charge — what's wrong?
This usually points to the charger not completing the BMS handshake with a fresh cell pack at low initial voltage. Remove the robot from the dock, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to clear any latched fault state, then re-dock. If the charge light still does not cycle through its normal sequence, check that the dock contacts and battery terminals are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact — oxidation on those pins is enough to prevent the handshake from completing.
