ETA 5241 Aurum / 6241 Aurum — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP14452C)

This is a 14.4V Li-ion replacement battery for the ETA 5241 Aurum and 6241 Aurum cordless stick vacuums. Capacity is 6700mAh (96.48Wh). It replaces OEM part numbers BP14452C and 98600.

• 5241 Aurum and 6241 Aurum fit: Both models run the same 14.4V battery rail with an identical connector and BMS handshake. The cell count and pack geometry match across both units, so one battery serves either chassis without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on a 14.4V cordless vacuum platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start current draw and held cell balance across all cycles without tripping on normal suction loads.
• Dock charging practice on the 5241 Aurum: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock contact exposes the pack to trickle current after full charge, which accelerates capacity fade on Li-ion cells. Charge until full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The 5241 Aurum motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher amps from the pack. The BMS reads this as elevated load and begins throttling cell output to protect against overcurrent, which the vacuum displays as reduced suction. The battery indicator may still show mid-charge because the BMS is acting on current draw, not on state-of-charge alone. Clean the filter first; if suction recovers at the same battery level, the filter was the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause

This pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or the filter is partially clogged, current spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack shuts the output circuit. After 10–30 seconds the BMS re-arms, power returns, and the cycle repeats if the restriction remains. Check the filter and clear any blockage in the suction path before attributing this to the battery. If the motor still cuts out on a clean filter, measure pack output voltage under load — it should hold above 12.5V during normal operation.
