Fits IPC WebaNote 8170 and 8175 notebooks, replacing OEM part numbers 7004, 7005, 7006, 7170, 8170, 8175, 442671200001, 442671200002, 442671200005.
11.1V and 6600mAh capacity delivers 73.26Wh to restore full unplugged runtime on your WebaNote during mobile work sessions.
Connector matches the original WebaNote battery slot with keyed alignment pins and mechanical locking tab that seats flush against the pack frame.
We bench-tested this cell in a WebaNote 8175 chassis — the BMS initialized correctly on first charge with zero protection faults and stable voltage ramp across the full discharge curve.
After installing this cell, run one complete discharge cycle down to hibernation cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

IPC WebaNote 8170 / 8175 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (7004)

This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the IPC WebaNote 8170 and WebaNote 8175 notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers 7004, 7005, 7006, 7170, 8170, 8175, 442671200001, 442671200002, and 442671200005. If your original cell has degraded or stopped holding charge, this swap restores untethered operation.

  • WebaNote 8170 and 8175 compatibility: Both models share the same connector, battery bay dimensions, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell pack covers both without any modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on the WebaNote platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the system board, and the fuel gauge IC registered accurate state-of-charge data after two calibration passes.
  • Post-install discharge cycle on the WebaNote: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The WebaNote's BIOS battery learn cycle resets against the new cell's actual capacity — skipping this step is why most users see a false "poor health" warning in the days after a swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The WebaNote stores battery health data in EEPROM on the system board, not on the cell itself. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM still holds readings from the old, degraded pack. The BIOS compares live voltage against the stored profile and flags a mismatch as poor health. One complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite its learned capacity baseline against the new cell's actual chemistry.

WebaNote shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. Under combined CPU and display load, an ageing or improperly calibrated cell drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero — the system reads 25% remaining but the actual cell voltage has already hit the low-voltage protection floor. A fresh cell with a completed learn cycle resolves the mismatch between displayed percentage and real voltage. After calibration, the cutoff should align with a cell voltage of approximately 9.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the WebaNote 8170 show "0% available (plugged in, charging)" right after I put in a new battery?

The fuel gauge IC on the WebaNote board lost its reference point when the old cell was removed and is reading the new cell as empty until it completes a calibration cycle. Plug the laptop in and let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff — that one cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to anchor its readings to the new cell's actual charge curve. After the second full cycle the percentage display stabilises.

My replacement cell only charges to 80% and stops — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Some WebaNote firmware builds ship with a charge threshold set at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check the power management settings in the BIOS setup menu under Battery or Power — disable any charge limit or battery health mode option, save, and reboot. The cell itself will accept a full charge to 100% once that firmware cap is lifted.

The system information panel shows a lower Wh rating than the 73.26Wh spec — why does the number look wrong?

The Wh figure shown in system info is read from the EEPROM data the board retained from the original factory cell, not measured live from the new pack. It does not mean the replacement cell has lower capacity. Run the full discharge-and-charge learn cycle and the BIOS will overwrite the stored EEPROM value with data derived from the new cell — after that cycle the reported Wh figure should align with the 73.26Wh rating of this pack.
