It is a direct cell replacement for clinical thermography workflows where the primary battery depletes during extended imaging sessions. All models in the Mars1417V line share the same voltage rail and connector, so one battery covers the full platform.

Charge indicator stuck below 100% on the first charge

This is the charge controller protecting the cell — not a faulty battery or a faulty charger. Do not disconnect and reconnect the charger repeatedly; that resets the absorption timer and extends the total charge time further. Leave the device on charge until the indicator clears to 100% naturally, then run one full discharge before the next charge.

My Mars1417V won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused in a drawer for several months — is the cell dead?

Self-discharge during storage can pull the cell below the BMS's minimum recovery voltage, which causes the controller to refuse activation as a protection measure. Connect the device to its charger and leave it for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC applies a trickle current to bring the cell back above the recovery threshold. If the charge indicator shows no activity after 30 minutes, check that the battery is fully seated and the contacts are clean. Once the cell reaches approximately 10.0V, normal charging resumes.

The Mars1417V shuts off unexpectedly during imaging sessions in the first week of use — is there a fault?

Keep the battery topped up between sessions during the break-in period and avoid running it below 20% charge until after the tenth full cycle.
