Fits JCB Toughphone XP1-0001100 lithium-ion cell replacement.
3.7V at 1100mAh delivers 4.07Wh — standard capacity for this smartphone platform.
Connector accepts the original JCB contact tab; seats flush into the battery cavity.
We bench-tested this cell in Toughphone; BMS accepted the charge protocol without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JCB Toughphone Sitemaster TP803 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XP1-0001100)

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the JCB Toughphone, Sitemaster, and Toughphone Sitemaster TP803. It matches the OEM part number XP1-0001100 and fits the compact 55.11 × 35.55 × 5.77mm battery bay. Voltage and capacity figures come from the product data, not estimates.

  • Toughphone and Sitemaster platform fit: The TP803 and Sitemaster variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both lines without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge cycle on a TP803 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and charge current stepped down correctly at the 4.2V cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before resuming normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this step is the most common cause of erratic percentage readings after a cell swap.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the JCB Toughphone after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. At 20–30% reported charge, the new cell's actual voltage drops below what the modem and display demand under load. The phone cuts out not because the cell is faulty, but because the coulomb counter hasn't yet learned the new cell's real capacity floor. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a complete charge to 4.2V resets the calibration.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge roughly 1–3% per month in storage. If the cell voltage drops below 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent cell damage — and the phone will show nothing on screen when you press power. Connect it to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC on the phone needs to detect a minimum voltage before the BMS releases lockout; a PC port often lacks the current headroom to trigger recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My JCB Toughphone shows a different battery percentage every time I check — it jumps around after I fitted the new cell. What's causing this?

The fuel gauge IC on the TP803 is still running the discharge model it built for the old cell. It uses a coulomb counter to track charge, and that counter's reference points don't match the new cell's actual voltage curve yet. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle the IC recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my Toughphone the first time I plugged in the replacement battery — is the new cell rejecting the charger?

The BMS on a new cell sometimes won't negotiate the fast-charge handshake on the very first cycle because it hasn't yet confirmed cell temperature and impedance are within the accepted window. Charge once at standard speed using a basic 5V charger. Once that first cycle completes and the BMS logs a clean charge event, plug in your fast charger — the protocol handshake should complete normally from the second cycle onward.

The JCB Toughphone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the replacement cell. Is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat than a broken-in one because the charge IC pushes current into higher internal resistance. On the first two or three cycles this is expected — surface temperature at the battery cover typically stays within safe limits. If the phone feels hot to the touch rather than warm, or if it triggers a thermal warning on screen, stop charging and check that the battery contacts are seated flat with no debris between the cell and the connector. Normal warmth resolves itself after the cell's impedance drops through the first few charge cycles.
