Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher FC 3d Cordless Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4.683-274.0)
This is a 7.4V, 2500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Karcher 1.055-363.0, FC 3d Cordless, and FC 3d Cordless Premium. It fits the OEM battery slot directly and communicates with the device's onboard charging circuit. Capacity matches the original at 2500mAh (18.5Wh).
- FC 3d Cordless platform compatibility: The 1.055-363.0, FC 3d Cordless, and FC 3d Cordless Premium all run the same 7.4V battery rail, share the same physical connector, and use the same BMS handshake to communicate charge state to the device. One battery fits all three variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the FC 3d Cordless platform. The BMS handshake initialised correctly, charge acceptance was normal, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected overcurrent threshold during a simulated blockage load.
- Dock charging discipline for the FC 3d series: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. The FC 3d Cordless dock does not switch to a true standby state — it continues to trickle charge, which accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then remove the battery or device from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the FC 3d Cordless, the suction motor is the highest current draw in the system. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder and pulls more current than the BMS expects at a given charge level. Voltage sags under that load, and the device reads the sag as a low-battery condition even though the cell still has usable charge. Clean or replace the filter first — this resolves the symptom in most cases without a battery swap. If suction still drops after a clean filter, measure resting cell voltage: a healthy cell at 50% charge should sit above 7.2V.
Motor cuts out mid-use and recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a depleted battery. It happens when sustained restricted airflow forces the motor to draw current above the protection circuit's threshold — the BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once current demand drops. The pause before recovery is the BMS re-initialising. Check the filter and the floor nozzle for blockages before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cutout persists after clearing any blockage, the original cell's BMS threshold may have drifted — a replacement cell with a fresh BMS will restore the correct trip point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Karcher FC 3d Cordless has noticeably weaker suction now compared to when it was new — could the battery be causing this?
Yes, a degraded Li-ion cell causes voltage sag under motor load, which reduces the power delivered to the suction motor even when the indicator doesn't show low. Before replacing the battery, clean the filter — a blocked filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which compounds the voltage sag. If suction improves after a filter clean, the battery may still have useful life. If the cell rests below 7.2V after a full charge cycle, replace it.
My FC 3d Cordless battery is fading faster than it used to — it's been on the dock almost permanently since I bought it. Is that the problem?
That is almost certainly the cause. The FC 3d Cordless dock does not enter a true maintenance mode — it continues to trickle charge the Li-ion cell when the vacuum sits docked indefinitely. Continuous low-level charging causes lithium plating and capacity loss in the cell over time. Going forward, charge the battery fully and remove it from the dock. A replacement cell will recover full capacity, but the same habit will degrade the new cell at the same rate.
The replacement battery charged fully but the FC 3d Cordless won't start — no response at all when I press the power button.
The FC 3d Cordless checks for a BMS handshake before allowing the motor to run — if the charger or device doesn't detect the expected signal from the battery's protection circuit, it won't power on. First, remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, and reinsert it firmly to reset the connection. If there's still no response, charge the battery for at least 20 minutes before retrying — a deeply discharged cell can arrive below the threshold the device needs to recognise it. A confirmed full charge reading on the charger before reinserting rules out a communication issue caused by low cell voltage.
