Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Aqua Series 5000 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2441846-62)

This 25.2V, 2500mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Philips Aqua Series 5000, Series 9000, and XC5041 cordless stick vacuums. It matches the OEM part number 2441846-62 and slots into the same battery bay with no modification. Capacity is 63Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • Series 5000 and Series 9000 compatibility: Both vacuum lines run the same 25.2V cell architecture and share the 2441846-62 battery connector and BMS handshake protocol, which is why one pack covers both series without adaptation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on the XC5041 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, the fuel gauge reported accurately across the range, and no overcurrent trip occurred during motor start.
  • Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously. Philips cordless vacuums on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade faster than units charged only when the battery is depleted — charge to full, then remove it.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when a blocked filter forces the motor to draw current above its rated load. The BMS detects the elevated draw and reduces output voltage to protect the cells, which the motor reads as low power — not a low battery. The indicator stays mid-range because cell voltage is still healthy. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction restores immediately, the battery was never the problem.

Motor cuts out briefly on carpet then recovers on its own

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery fault. On thick carpet or when the brush roll is partially blocked, sustained restricted airflow causes the motor to spike current draw sharply. The BMS cuts the circuit to prevent cell damage, then resets once current normalises. Clear any brush roll obstruction and confirm filter airflow is unrestricted — if the trip stops occurring, the pack is functioning correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips Series 5000 vacuum has noticeably less suction well before the battery light goes red — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. A partially blocked filter makes the motor pull more current than rated, which causes the BMS to drop output voltage early — suction falls but the battery indicator stays mid-range because cell voltage is still fine. Clean the filter completely and run the vacuum again. If suction holds, the battery is not the cause; if suction still drops with a clean filter, measure resting cell voltage — a healthy 25.2V pack should read above 22V after a full charge cycle.

The vacuum runs for a few seconds, cuts out, then comes back on by itself — what's causing that?

That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, which is different from a flat battery. It happens when the brush roll is partially jammed or the filter is restricting airflow enough to push motor current above the BMS threshold. Clear any hair or debris from the brush roll, confirm the filter is seated correctly, and run the vacuum again. If the cutout stops, the pack is working as intended.

The battery on my Series 5000 used to last a full session but now fades much faster even after a full charge — what degraded it?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause on this model. Leaving the vacuum docked permanently keeps the cells in a trickle-charge state, which accelerates capacity fade over months. A replacement pack recovers full rated capacity, but the same habit will degrade the new cell on the same timeline. Charge the new pack to full, remove it from the dock, and only return it to charge when the battery is genuinely depleted.
