Fits Ariete 00C0440A0AR0 TYPE 440/A cordless vacuum; replaces OEM part TMK-H T870888.
2.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH delivers consistent motor voltage through full cleaning cycles on carpeted floors.
Connector slides straight into the battery dock with a single locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell on a dust-restricted motor draw — BMS held steady through sustained overcurrent without nuisance cutoff.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock when full; continuous dock charge causes capacity fade much faster than charge-only-when-depleted cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ariete 00C0440A0AR0 TYPE: 440/A — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (TMK-H T870888)

This is a 2.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Ariete cordless vacuum cleaners. It fits the 00C0440A0AR0 TYPE: 440/A and a range of related models including 00C0440A1AR0, 00C004010AR0 Type 40, 00C004011AR0 TYPE: 4011, and nine additional variants. OEM part number TMK-H T870888.

  • Multi-model fit — TYPE 440 platform: These Ariete cordless vacuum models share the same 2.4V cell configuration, connector layout, and motor driver circuit. One battery cell services the full TYPE 440 series without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated discharge and charge sequences on the TYPE 440/A platform. The Ni-MH chemistry handled motor start-up current cleanly, and the BMS held voltage without dropout under sustained suction load.
  • Dock charge discipline for Ni-MH cells: Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than Li-ion. Do not leave this vacuum permanently docked. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock until the next use cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain at full voltage — usually triggered by a partially blocked filter or full dustbin. The cell voltage sags under elevated load, and the motor slows before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery state. The indicator reads cell resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind real-world performance. Clear the filter and empty the bin first — if suction recovers, the battery was not the cause.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter is restricted, the motor works harder and draws current above the rated threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets after the cell temperature drops. The fix is not a new battery — check the filter for blockage and clean it. If the motor cuts out on a clean filter with a new cell, verify the charger output matches the 2.4V Ni-MH requirement before drawing further conclusions.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ariete vacuum loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light isn't flashing low — why?

The battery indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage. Under a partially blocked filter or full dustbin, the motor pulls more current than normal, and cell voltage sags under that load while the indicator still reads normal. Clean the filter and empty the bin — if suction returns, the filter was the cause, not the battery. If suction stays weak on a clean filter with a fully charged cell, check that the dustbin seal is intact.

I replaced the battery but the vacuum charges for a few minutes then stops — is the charger the problem?

Ni-MH chargers on some Ariete cordless models use a negative delta-V detection method to sense a full charge — a slight voltage drop signals the charger to cut off. A fresh cell can trigger this cutoff early if its initial resting voltage is slightly elevated out of the box. Run the vacuum until the cell drops, then put it on charge for a full cycle. If the charger still cuts off within a few minutes, measure the charger output — it should match the 2.4V Ni-MH specification on the label.

The vacuum ran well for months, then runtime dropped sharply — nothing is blocked and the cell is less than a year old. What happened?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH cordless vacuums. Trickle current across a Ni-MH cell that is already full causes gradual internal degradation, and capacity loss becomes noticeable within a few months of permanent docking. Remove the vacuum from the dock once the charge is complete and only recharge when the cell is depleted. If the cell has been on continuous dock charge since install, the capacity loss is permanent — a replacement cell used with correct charge discipline will restore performance.
