This 25.2V 2400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Karcher FC 5 Cordless, Basic FC 5 Cordless, and 1.055-601.0 floor cleaner. It matches the original voltage rail and connector layout. Capacity is rated at 60.48Wh — identical to the factory specification.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the FC 5 Cordless, suction loss mid-clean is rarely the battery's fault first. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, and voltage sags under that load even when the pack is near full charge. The BMS reads the sag as low battery and throttles output. Clean or replace the filter before swapping the pack — if suction restores, the battery was not the root cause.

Motor cutting out and self-recovering during use

If the FC 5 Cordless cuts out for two to three seconds then restarts on its own, the BMS is tripping on an overcurrent event — not a dead cell. This happens most often when suction is restricted: blocked filter, clogged roller, or debris stuck at the intake. The BMS protects the motor by cutting power momentarily, then resets once current drops. Clear the restriction and the cutouts stop; if they continue on a clean machine, verify the charger output voltage sits at 29.4V before attributing fault to the battery.

My Karcher FC 5 Cordless runs for a much shorter time than it used to even with a new battery — what's draining it so fast?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws significantly more current than rated to maintain suction, burning through the pack far faster than normal. Remove and clean the filter, then test again — most users see runtime recover immediately. If the problem persists on a clean filter, check that the charger is delivering a full 29.4V at the connector before assuming a faulty cell.

The replacement battery charges fine but the FC 5 Cordless won't turn on at all — no lights, no response.

This points to a BMS initialisation issue rather than a dead pack. Some chargers need to detect a minimum cell voltage before they'll handshake with a new battery — if the pack sat in storage, it may have self-discharged below that threshold. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without interruption; the charger should detect the pack and begin a recovery charge. If the charger light still doesn't respond after that, measure voltage at the battery terminals — anything below 20V indicates the pack needs a pre-charge cycle before normal use.

My Karcher FC 5 Cordless battery fades noticeably after a few months even though it's always on the dock — is the charger damaging it?

Yes — continuous dock charging is the primary cause of accelerated capacity fade in Li-ion packs used in cordless vacuums. Once the pack reaches full charge, the dock continues to push a low-level trickle current through the cells, which stresses them over weeks and months. The fix is simple: charge fully, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge. Recharge only when the pack is depleted or nearly so.
