Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ICLEBO Free / Plus / Pro Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (YBR-B02-1)
This 14.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the ICLEBO Free, Plus, Pro, and Robot Pro YCR-M04-02-R robotic vacuum cleaners. It fits the same battery bay and connects through the same OEM-spec connector and BMS interface. When the original cell degrades and the vacuum starts cutting cycles short or refusing to dock-charge, this is the direct swap.
- Free, Plus, and Pro platform compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full range. Swapping between these models on the same dock works because the charge circuit reads the same BMS signature.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the ICLEBO charging dock and confirmed the BMS handshake cleared correctly, the protection circuit tripped at the expected overcurrent threshold, and charge termination cut off at full capacity without float-charge continuation.
- Dock charging habit for this vacuum: The ICLEBO Free auto-returns to its dock after every run. That convenience accelerates capacity fade if you leave the unit docked indefinitely between uses. Once the charge cycle completes, pull it off the dock — continuous trickle charge degrades lithium cells faster than any other use pattern on this platform.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The ICLEBO's motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll has resistance from debris. That elevated draw causes voltage to sag under load even when the cell still shows charge — the BMS reads the sag as near-depletion and throttles motor power. The indicator is measuring resting voltage, not load voltage, so the two don't match. Clean the filter and brush roll before assuming the new battery is at fault.
Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, jammed brush, or a dense carpet fibre catch — the motor pulls past the BMS current limit and the protection circuit disconnects the output. The pause resets the trip latch, which is why the vacuum appears to "recover." The fix is clearing the restriction, not recharging. If the cutout happens on a clean filter, check that the replacement cell's BMS trip threshold matches the OEM spec — verify the part number matches YBR-B02-1 or YCR-B01-3.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ICLEBO Free is permanently docked and now barely makes it through one room — is the new battery already failing?
Continuous dock parking is the most common cause of rapid capacity fade on this platform. The charger holds the cell at full voltage indefinitely, and sustained high-state-of-charge trickle charge degrades lithium cells faster than normal cycling. The battery is not defective — the charging habit is the problem. Charge to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only return it when it needs charging.
The ICLEBO cuts out on thick carpet, pauses for about 30 seconds, then runs again — what's happening?
The BMS is tripping on overcurrent. Heavy carpet increases brush-roll resistance, which pushes motor draw past the protection circuit's cutoff threshold. The 30-second pause resets the latch, making it look like a battery issue when it's actually a load issue. Remove accumulated fibre from the brush roll and clean the filter — if the cutouts stop, the cell is fine.
The ICLEBO won't start a charge cycle on the dock after fitting the replacement battery — the dock light just flashes and nothing happens.
The ICLEBO charger expects a specific BMS handshake before it initiates a charge cycle. If the dock light flashes without charging, the BMS in the replacement cell has not completed that handshake — usually because the battery was deeply discharged during storage. Remove the battery, leave it out for 60 seconds, reseat it firmly, and place the unit back on the dock. If the handshake still fails, confirm the part number is YBR-B02-1 or YCR-B01-3, and check that dock contact pins are clean and making full contact.
