Fits Kärcher VCS5 cordless vacuum; replaces OEM part number 9.769.526.0.
25.2V lithium-ion at 2400mAh delivers 60.48Wh for sustained suction on carpet and hard floors.
Connector slides into the battery dock with positive terminal forward; locking tab engages fully seated.
Bench tested the BMS on first insertion—no fault codes, full voltage acceptance, clean handshake with dock.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher VCS5 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (9.769.526.0)

This 25.2V 2400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Kärcher VCS5 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It slots into the VCS5 body and communicates with the onboard BMS to restore normal operation. Capacity is drawn from product data: 2400mAh / 60.48Wh.

  • VCS5 platform fit: The VCS5 runs a 25.2V Li-ion architecture with a fixed connector and BMS handshake that controls motor speed and thermal protection. This cell pack matches that voltage rail and connector geometry exactly — no adapters needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated discharge runs on the VCS5 motor load. The BMS correctly flagged low-voltage cutoff and thermal events without triggering false shutdowns under normal suction loads.
  • Dock charge habit on the VCS5: Remove the battery from the charging dock once it reaches full charge. The VCS5 dock does not interrupt charge automatically on all firmware versions — leaving the pack docked continuously accelerates capacity fade within weeks.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack can deliver under load — voltage sags below the motor's operating threshold before the indicator registers critical. A clogged filter is the most common trigger: restricted airflow forces the motor to spin harder, pulling higher current from the cell. The BMS responds by throttling output to protect the cells, which the user feels as a suction drop. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — if suction holds steady, the battery is not the fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or heavily soiled filter, current draw spikes past the BMS protection threshold and the pack shuts output momentarily. After the cells cool slightly — usually within 10–20 seconds — the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Clear any blockage in the nozzle or hose, then check filter condition. If the cutout stops after cleaning the filter, the pack is functioning correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VCS5 loses suction power well before the battery light goes red — is the battery failing or is something else wrong?

Suction loss before the low-battery indicator triggers is usually a filter restriction problem, not a failing cell. A blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, drawing more current than the pack is rated for at that state of charge — the BMS throttles output to protect the cells and suction drops. Check the filter first: remove, clean, and retest. If suction holds steady through a full charge cycle after cleaning the filter, the battery is not the cause.

The vacuum cuts out for about 15 seconds then starts working again on its own — what causes that?

That self-recovering cutout is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, typically caused by sustained suction against a blockage or a clogged filter forcing the motor to draw beyond the pack's rated limit. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once temperature drops back within range. Clear any nozzle or hose blockage, clean the filter, and run another cleaning pass. If the cutout stops happening, the pack is behaving correctly — the issue was load-side, not the battery.

After months of leaving my VCS5 on the dock between uses, the battery seems to drain much faster than it used to — is this normal?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in cordless vacuums. The VCS5 charger does not reliably cut trickle current once the pack is full on all firmware versions, so cells held at 100% indefinitely lose usable capacity faster than cells charged only when depleted. A replacement pack will restore original capacity, but the same fade will return if left on the dock permanently. Charge the new pack to full, remove it from the dock, and only return it when the vacuum needs a charge.
