Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher FC 3 Cordless Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4.055-153.0)
This 7.4V 2500mAh Li-ion battery fits the Kärcher FC 3 Cordless hard floor cleaner and its variants. It replaces OEM parts 4.055-153.0, 4.683-326.0, 6.682-492.0, 6.682-982.0, and BL0618. The FC 3 Cordless sprays and vacuums hard floors simultaneously, so a weak battery affects both the pump and motor at once.
- FC 3 Cordless and FC 3d Cordless compatibility: The FC 3, FC 3 Premium, FC 3d Cordless, and FC 3d Cordless Premium all share the same 7.4V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake — the same cell pack fits all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an FC 3 Cordless unit. The BMS held the over-discharge cutoff correctly at 6.0V and accepted charge from the standard Kärcher dock without fault codes or interrupted charge cycles.
- Dock charge habit on the FC 3 Cordless: Do not leave the cleaner sitting on the dock between cleaning sessions. Continuous trickle charge from the dock degrades cell capacity faster than regular charge-then-remove cycles. Charge to full, remove from dock, store off the base.
Why the FC 3 Cordless loses suction before the battery indicator reaches low
The FC 3 Cordless runs a pump and a suction motor from the same 7.4V pack. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws above its rated current, pulling cell voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects. The battery shows two or three bars while suction is already weak — the indicator reads state of charge, not available voltage under load. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers, the battery is fine.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and restarting after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the FC 3 Cordless hits a sustained restriction — a clogged filter, a blocked nozzle, or heavy debris — current draw spikes and the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. The unit restarts once the BMS resets, usually within a few seconds. Clear the blockage and check the filter pad; if the motor cuts out on a clean floor with a new filter, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 6.8V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My FC 3 Cordless battery fades noticeably faster than it did six months ago — it used to clean the whole kitchen, now it barely finishes half. What causes that?
Leaving the cleaner on the charging dock between uses is the most common cause. The dock applies a low-level trickle charge continuously, and Li-ion cells stored at full charge under constant current lose usable capacity faster than cells that are charged and then disconnected. Remove the battery or the unit from the dock once the charge indicator is full. A replacement cell restored to a charge-and-remove routine should maintain capacity significantly longer than the original did.
The replacement battery sits on the dock but the charge light never comes on — is the charger rejecting it?
The Kärcher dock expects a specific BMS handshake before it begins charging. If the charge light stays off with a new cell, the BMS in the replacement may need a wake cycle first — connect and disconnect the battery from the unit three times, then place it back on the dock. If the light still does not come on, check that the gold contact pins on the battery and dock are clean and fully seating; oxidised or misaligned pins block the handshake signal before the charger even reads state of charge.
The FC 3 Cordless runs fine for the first part of a clean, then the suction drops sharply even though the battery indicator still shows charge — what is happening?
A partially blocked filter is the most likely cause, not a failing battery. When airflow is restricted, the motor works harder and pulls higher current from the pack, dropping cell voltage under load even while the indicator shows adequate state of charge. Remove and rinse the filter pad, let it dry fully, then retest. If suction holds steady after a clean filter is reinstalled, the battery is supplying the correct voltage — target is above 6.8V measured at the terminals under normal operating load.
