3.8V 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full charge capacity on the Thunder2 5.0 after original battery degradation.
Connector slides into the factory slot with a single locking tab on the left side when installed correctly.
We bench-tested this cell on Thunder2 5.0 hardware; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KAZAM Thunder2 5.0 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KQQ50)

This 3.8V 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the KAZAM Thunder2 5.0 smartphone (model TH25014-01). It matches the OEM part number KQQ50 and fits the phone's internal bay without modification. Capacity is 2000mAh at 7.6Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • Thunder2 5.0 and TH25014-01 fitment: Both model references share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The physical cell measures 76.00 × 58.95 × 3.90mm — a tight tolerance match to the original compartment. No adapter or rewiring needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Thunder2 5.0 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, the charge IC reached full termination correctly, and voltage held stable under combined screen and modem load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a complete discharge curve to map against the new cell — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings for the first several days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Thunder2 5.0

The Thunder2 5.0's modem and display pull current in short spikes. An aged cell cannot sustain voltage under that load — it drops below the BMS cutoff threshold and the phone shuts off even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage through those spikes. After fitting this replacement, run one full calibration cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalculates the cliff point on the new cell's actual discharge curve.

Phone won't power on after sitting in a drawer for months

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to a charger or power button. Connect the phone to a low-current charger (a standard 5W USB wall adapter, not a fast charger) and leave it undisturbed for 30–60 minutes. The BMS recovery circuit trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout threshold before allowing normal charging to resume. If the screen shows no charging indicator after 90 minutes, check that the charger output sits at 5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my KAZAM Thunder2 5.0 show the wrong battery percentage after I fit the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the Thunder2 5.0 builds its percentage model from the old cell's discharge curve — it has no data on the new cell yet. Until it completes one full calibration cycle, it reports percentage against the wrong reference. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on the Thunder2 5.0 after I swapped the battery — what's happening?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes fails to complete the USB handshake that enables high-current charging — it defaults to standard 5V input instead. This is normal behaviour on the first cycle with a new BMS. Charge once at standard rate to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. On the second cycle the handshake completes correctly and fast charging resumes.

The Thunder2 5.0 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that a fault?

A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a worn cell that has been conditioned over hundreds of cycles. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell and generates a small amount of additional heat. Warmth in the battery area during the first two or three charges is normal and will reduce as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the back panel distorts, stop charging and check that the charger output does not exceed 5V at 2A.
