Fits Kyocera DuraMax, E4210, E4225, E4277 and replaces SCP-43LBPS, 5AAXBT048GEA battery.
Delivers 3.7V at 1450mAh—sufficient for full-day operation on moderate use patterns.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with the locking tab facing upward.
We tested the cell on a DuraMax bench unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes during the initial charge cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera DuraMax / E4210 / E4225 / E4277 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCP-43LBPS)

This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Kyocera DuraMax and its E4210, E4225, and E4277 variants. It matches the original cell footprint at 53.90 × 34.00 × 7.20mm. OEM part numbers SCP-43LBPS and 5AAXBT048GEA both cross-reference to this cell.

  • DuraMax / E42xx series fit: The E4210, E4225, and E4277 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol as the DuraMax — one cell covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a DuraMax unit. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection trip, and the fuel gauge IC registered a full 1450mAh draw before cutoff voltage was reached.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the DuraMax after a cell swap

The DuraMax modem and screen together draw enough current to cause a brief voltage sag on a new cell. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it misreads remaining capacity. The phone's protection circuit then sees a voltage reading that falls below the shutdown threshold — even though the cell has charge left. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and clears this behaviour.

OS reporting erratic or jumping battery percentage after replacement

After a cell swap, the fuel gauge IC carries forward calibration data from the old cell. The new cell's impedance and discharge curve differ enough that the percentage readout can jump — sometimes several points in either direction — during normal use. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault in the cell itself. Charge the phone to 100%, allow it to discharge fully without interruption, then recharge to 100% to give the IC a clean reference cycle. The readout stabilises at 3.7V nominal after that cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DuraMax won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V from prolonged storage discharge. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold, after which the phone should boot normally. If the screen shows nothing after 45 minutes on the wall charger, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the new battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol sometimes falls back to standard current because the BMS hasn't yet confirmed cell parameters to the charge IC. Charge the phone fully at standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Most DuraMax units re-negotiate the fast charge handshake on the second connection once the BMS has logged one full cycle. If fast charging still doesn't engage after that, try a different cable — the DuraMax charge protocol is sensitive to cable resistance.

The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery while charging — is that normal with a new cell?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled a few times. That extra resistance generates more heat during the first several charge cycles as current is pushed into an uncalibrated, high-impedance cell. The warmth should reduce noticeably after three to five full charge cycles once impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and check that the battery connector pins aren't bent, which raises contact resistance further.
