Fits Land Rover S1, S2, and S9 smartphones; replaces original 3.7V Li-ion cell.
3.7V and 1750mAh capacity delivers full-day communication, messaging, and app use on stock firmware.
Connector slots into original battery bay; dimensions match OEM pack at 52 × 36 × 10.30mm.
Bench testing shows BMS accepts charge current without early cutoff; fuel gauge IC reads full capacity on second cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before USB-PD pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Land Rover S1 / S2 / S9 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Land Rover S1, S2, and S9 rugged smartphones. It fits the same battery bay and connector as the factory cell. Use the capacity figure from this listing — 1750mAh — as your reference spec.

  • S1, S2, and S9 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions (52 × 36 × 10.30mm), voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across this series, so one cell covers all three variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S-series platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a rejection flag, and the charge IC reached full termination voltage at 4.2V as expected.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging if your device supports it, then run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Land Rover S-series after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under peak modem transmission or screen load, a new cell that hasn't been calibrated yet can sag below the cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The phone shuts down to protect the cell even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the fuel gauge IC update its internal map and removes the mismatch between reported and actual cell voltage.

Phone won't power on after sitting in storage with a flat battery

If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent charging a critically discharged lithium cell. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a low-output USB charger (5V/500mA wall adapter, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the BMS detects the cell is above the recovery threshold, normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Land Rover S1 shows the wrong battery percentage after fitting this replacement — is the fuel gauge broken?

The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the coulomb counter doesn't yet know the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship, so percentages read inaccurately. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the IC recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my S-series phone after I installed this battery — it only slow-charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to a conservative constant-current profile until the BMS confirms the new cell is within safe parameters. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle at standard rate first. Fast charging typically resumes on the second cycle once the BMS has logged the cell's internal resistance and accepted it as a known-good cell.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is that normal with a new cell?

A new Li-ion cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC dissipates a small amount of extra energy as heat while current flows through that higher resistance. Warmth in the first two or three cycles is expected. If the device is too hot to hold or charging stops early with an error, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — poor contact increases resistance and heat further.
