Fits Seals VR7 and VR3 smartphones; replaces OEM part number VR-01.
3.7V, 1750mAh Li-ion cell delivers full charge cycles without voltage sag under modem load.
Connector type matches OEM slot orientation; no physical modifications needed for installation.
We ran a full discharge cycle on a VR7 unit — BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage stable through standby and active use.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Seals VR7 / VR3 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VR-01)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1750mAh (6.48Wh), built to the VR-01 specification. It fits the Seals VR7 and VR3 smartphones. Use it when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • VR7 and VR3 compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions (52.00 × 36.00 × 10.30mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell works across both models without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VR7 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell, voltage held steady across full-screen and modem-active loads, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging session pushes current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading a discharge curve calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under modem and display load, so the reported percentage and the actual cutoff voltage diverge. When real cell voltage hits the BMS floor — typically around 3.0V under load — the phone shuts down even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate re-anchors the coulomb counter to the new cell and eliminates the early cutoff.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into that resistance, and the extra heat is normal for the first two to three cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone stays warm past the third full charge, check that the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode on the new cell — pull the battery, reseat it, and let the BMS renegotiate the charge rate from a cold start. Warmth should normalise once cell impedance settles below roughly 150mΩ.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Seals VR7 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for a few months with this battery installed — is it dead?

The BMS has almost certainly locked the cell out after voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Plug into a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle enough current in to bring cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 3.0V before the phone can boot.

The VR7 shows 100% immediately after I install this battery and then jumps around for the first day — is the cell faulty?

The cell is fine. The fuel gauge IC is comparing incoming voltage readings against a discharge curve stored from the old cell, so the percentage figures are unreliable until it recalibrates. Run one full discharge — use the phone until the OS shuts it down automatically — then charge to 100% at standard rate without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter locks onto the new cell's curve and the percentage stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my VR3 after I swapped in this battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell defaults to a conservative charge profile until it completes one handshake with the charge IC. The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol will not engage until that negotiation succeeds. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off fully, then reconnect. If fast charge still does not resume after a complete power cycle, complete one full standard-rate charge cycle — fast charging typically re-enables automatically on the second charge session once the BMS has cleared its initialisation flag.
