Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Landi A8 Pro Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LD18650F-1)
This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Landi A8 Pro-92D3 and A8 Pro payment terminals. Both models run the same voltage rail and connector, so one battery covers both. OEM part numbers LD18650F-1 and LD18650H-1 are direct references for this cell configuration.
- A8 Pro and A8 Pro-92D3 compatibility: Both terminals share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between these two variants requires no modification — the charge IC in each model reads the same cell chemistry and capacity data from this pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge cycles on a Landi A8 Pro unit and monitored BMS communication, thermal behaviour, and charge acceptance. The protection circuit tripped correctly at undervoltage and recovered cleanly on reconnection to the charger.
- First transaction cycle after swap: After fitting this battery, run one complete transaction — including a receipt print — before deploying the terminal in a live environment. The terminal maps cell capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The A8 Pro's receipt printer draws a sharp current spike the moment it fires — enough to trigger the BMS overcurrent protection on a new cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle. The BMS interprets the spike as a fault and cuts output, which the terminal reads as a power loss and reboots. Charge the battery to 100% before the first live use, then run one full transaction cycle including a print. After that initial calibration, the BMS threshold adjusts to the terminal's load profile and the cutoff behaviour stops.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after sitting unused
A Landi A8 Pro left in a drawer for several months can drop below the cell recovery threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell, or around 5.0V for the pack. At that voltage, the BMS locks output and the terminal either shows a blank screen or halts partway through the PCI integrity check. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it undisturbed for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC uses a trickle pre-charge phase to bring the cell voltage back above the 6.0V recovery threshold before resuming normal charging.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Landi A8 Pro shows the battery stuck at 99% for the first hour after a full charge — is the new battery defective?
It isn't defective. On a fresh cell, the charge IC enters a top-off phase once it hits the target voltage, holding at 99% while it trickles current to balance the cells. This is normal behaviour on the first one or two charge cycles. The indicator will drop to accurate reporting once the battery completes a full discharge and recharge cycle through normal terminal use.
The terminal goes warm during a busy transaction period — is the battery causing this?
The heat comes from combined load, not a single component. During heavy use, the A8 Pro runs the display, wireless radio, and receipt printer simultaneously, and the 7.4V pack is supplying all three at once. A warm case under sustained load is within normal operating range for this terminal class. If the terminal feels hot rather than warm, or shuts down, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a partial connection increases resistance and generates more heat at the terminal.
After fitting the new battery, the charge indicator on the Landi A8 Pro is reading incorrectly — jumping from 80% straight to full or dropping suddenly to low.
The charge indicator is calibrated against the old cell's degraded capacity curve, so it misreads a fresh cell until it re-learns the new pack. Run the terminal through two full cycles — charge to 100%, use it through normal transactions until it prompts for charging, then charge fully again. After the second complete cycle, the terminal's fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell's actual 2600mAh capacity and the display readings stabilise.
