Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Landi A8 Pro Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LD18650F-1)
This is a 7.4V 3350mAh Li-ion battery for the Landi A8 Pro-92D3 and A8 Pro payment terminals. It replaces OEM parts LD18650F-1 and LD18650H-1. These compact POS terminals are used at retail counters and in hospitality environments where consistent uptime directly affects transaction processing.
- A8 Pro and A8 Pro-92D3 compatibility: Both models share the same 7.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The same cell pack fits either variant without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full boot sequences on the A8 Pro platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charge IC on the first cycle, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at low-voltage threshold during discharge testing.
- First transaction cycle after install: Complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The A8 Pro's receipt printer motor draws a sharp current spike — typically 1.5A to 2A — each time it fires. If the BMS on a new battery has not yet completed its first full charge cycle, the overcurrent threshold can trip on that spike and cut power to the board. This causes a hard reboot that appears mid-transaction but is actually triggered at the print step. Run one complete charge-to-full cycle and process a test receipt before going live. After that initial cycle, the BMS calibrates its overcurrent window to normal operating draw.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery installation
The A8 Pro-92D3 runs a PCI-DSS compliant boot check that includes a battery authentication handshake. On a new cell, the BMS firmware exchange can time out if the battery voltage sits below 7.0V on arrival — common after shipping. Connect the terminal to the dock charger for at least 20 minutes before attempting to boot. Once the cell reaches approximately 7.2V, the handshake completes and the boot sequence runs through normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Landi A8 Pro won't turn on at all after sitting unused in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the cell dropped below the BMS recovery threshold from self-discharge, typically under 6.0V. At that point the protection circuit locks output and the terminal shows no signs of life. Connect the terminal to its dock charger and leave it for 30–40 minutes without attempting to power it on — some charge ICs will trickle-charge a deeply discharged cell back above the recovery threshold before enabling full charge. If the charge indicator still shows nothing after 45 minutes, the original battery needs replacement.
The battery indicator on my A8 Pro-92D3 is stuck at 99% even after charging overnight — is it faulty?
This is normal behaviour on a new cell. The charge IC enters a top-off mode when the battery is close to full, delivering a low trickle current that the fuel gauge rounds up to 99% rather than 100%. It clears after the first full discharge-and-recharge cycle during actual use. Run the terminal through normal transaction load until the battery indicator drops to around 20%, then charge it fully — the gauge will read 100% correctly from that point.
The A8 Pro terminal gets noticeably warm during a busy service period — is that a battery problem?
Warmth during heavy use is a load issue, not a battery fault. The terminal's combined draw from the display, wireless radio, and printer motor runs the cell hard under sustained transaction volume. The battery surface temperature should stay below 45°C under normal conditions. If the terminal becomes hot to the touch or triggers a thermal warning on screen, check that the dock connector pins are clean and making full contact — a resistive connection forces the charge IC to work harder and generates excess heat at the battery terminals.
