Lbook V3+ / V3+ Light — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh (3.33Wh) lithium-ion cell for the Lbook V3+ and V3+ Light smartphones. It replaces the original battery when the cell no longer holds charge or shuts the device down unexpectedly. Physical dimensions are 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.80mm — measure your original before ordering.

  • V3+ and V3+ Light compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake behaviour is identical across the two variants, so a single cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge, load, and cutoff cycles on the bench. The BMS held its low-voltage cutoff correctly and did not trip under the combined screen and modem draw typical of this device.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the V3+ reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve calibrated to the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still reading against that old curve. This causes percentage jumps or a reading that drifts significantly from actual remaining charge. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter and realigns the gauge to the new cell's actual capacity.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. Under peak modem or display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge predicts, tripping the BMS cutoff before the reported percentage reaches zero. It is most common when the fuel gauge IC has not yet completed a full calibration cycle on the new cell. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge to shutoff and recharge to 100% — after that cycle, the gauge tracks the actual voltage curve and shutoffs at low percentage become rare.

The V3+ powers on fine but shuts off by itself when I'm on a call or the screen is bright — the battery still shows 25%

That is a voltage cliff. Under combined modem and display load, the new cell's voltage drops sharply enough to trip the BMS cutoff before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell curve. Run one full discharge to auto-shutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutoffs stop.

Fast charging worked on my old battery but the V3+ is only slow-charging with the replacement — what's happening?

On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol correctly because the BMS presents higher impedance than the IC expects from a conditioned cell. This is normal behaviour on the first charge. Let the phone complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and reconnect — the fast-charge handshake typically re-establishes from the second cycle onward.

My V3+ won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it

If a Li-ion cell self-discharges below approximately 2.5V in storage, the BMS locks out to prevent unsafe charging of an over-discharged cell. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell from near-zero until the BMS unlocks at a safe voltage. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the battery has recovered above the lockout threshold and normal charging resumes.
