Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

OK Big Button / OMP80 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh (3.33Wh) Li-ion cell for the OK Big Button and OMP80 smartphones. It slots into the same compartment as the original and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge circuit. If your original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly, this cell replaces it directly.
- Big Button and OMP80 platform: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake logic, so one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Big Button platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and protection cutoff activated normally at the low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: For the first complete cycle after installation, disable any fast-charge mode if the device exposes that setting. A slow first discharge-charge cycle lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Big Button after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. A new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at low state-of-charge than a worn cell does. The phone's modem or screen draws enough current to drop cell voltage below the protection threshold before the gauge registers empty. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop. Let the phone run down until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone won't respond to a short press of the power button and may show no charging indicator for the first several minutes on the charger. Leave it connected to a working charger for 15–20 minutes — the charge IC applies a low-current trickle to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OK Big Button shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell — is the battery faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model calibrated to your old cell's behaviour, and a fresh cell has a different voltage curve. The percentage reading drifts until the IC recalibrates. Run one full discharge — let the phone power off on its own — then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the reported percentage tracks the actual cell state correctly.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the phone after swapping the battery — what's wrong?
Some charge controllers on budget smartphones require the BMS in a new cell to complete one standard-rate handshake before the IC unlocks higher charge current. On the first cycle, the phone defaults to a slow charge rate while it negotiates with the new cell's protection circuit. Charge the phone fully once at the standard rate without interrupting the session. On the second charge cycle the fast-charge protocol re-enables automatically.
The replacement cell gets noticeably warm near the battery area while charging — is that normal?
A new cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which causes the charge IC to dissipate a little more heat during the first few cycles. Mild warmth during charging is normal and reduces after 3–5 cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects early, check that you are using the original charging cable and a 5V adapter — higher voltage adapters push the charge IC outside its rated range. Switch to the correct adapter and monitor temperature on the next charge.
