Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo 3000 C200 8922 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40Y8315 / 92P1184)
This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Lenovo 3000 C200 8922 and related N100 series notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers including 40Y8315, 40Y8322, FRU 92P1184, and FRU 42T4514. Physical dimensions are 206.40 x 41.80 x 27.50mm — verify fitment against your current cell before ordering.
- 3000 C200 and N100 series compatibility: The C200 8922, 3000 N100 0689, and N100 0768 all share the same 10.8V three-cell battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — that is why one part number spans all three platforms.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the C200 8922 BMS handshake. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and cell-balance events with no error flags thrown during the test cycle.
- First-cycle reset procedure for this platform: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this series.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown after battery swap
This is a voltage cliff, not a faulty cell. Under combined CPU and display load, the battery voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new chemistry. The gauge still references discharge curves from the old, degraded cell stored in EEPROM. The fix is two full calibration cycles — discharge fully to hibernate, charge uninterrupted to 100% — after which the gauge IC builds accurate voltage-to-capacity mapping for the new cell. After two cycles, the cutoff point should return to below 5% indicated.
BIOS reporting new battery health as poor or unknown immediately after install
The BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM — not live cell voltage. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM holds factory defaults that do not match the cumulative charge data the BIOS expects from an established battery. The system flags it as unknown or degraded because the learn cycle has not run yet. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, then recheck under ThinkPad Battery Manager or Windows power diagnostics. The health status clears once the BIOS has logged a complete cycle against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lenovo 3000 C200 shows the wrong Wh rating in system info after fitting the new battery — is the cell actually smaller than advertised?
No — the Wh figure shown in Windows or BIOS pulls from the battery EEPROM, which stores a rated value that can differ from the actual cell chemistry in a replacement unit. The physical capacity is 47.52Wh as supplied. Run one full calibration cycle — discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the reported figure will update once the fuel gauge IC has logged real data against the new cell.
The fuel gauge on my 3000 N100 jumps from 60% to 15% with no warning — what is causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is still using discharge curves calibrated to the old, worn cell. It cannot accurately map voltage to remaining capacity until it has tracked the new cell through at least two complete cycles. Each time voltage drops faster than the old curve predicts, the gauge compensates with a sudden large jump. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycles back to back, and the erratic jumping should stop.
New battery installed in the 3000 C200 8922 but charging stops at 80% and will not go higher — is the cell defective?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault in the cell. Lenovo's firmware on this series includes a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during periods of mains-only use. Open Lenovo Energy Management or the Power Manager utility, find the battery charge threshold setting, and set the upper limit back to 100%. Once the threshold is raised, plug in and the cell will charge through to full.
